For what projects/services did your company hire Third Pig Software?

Our different HR systems couldn't be integrated in a simple way, and we were making every change that happened manually in 3 different systems. We hired Third Pig Software to research possible solutions and to implement them

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

This was a referral from someone who has had good experience before

There was a bit of research needed into the tools, but also into what it was exactly that we needed, and whether it was worth the effort to build an integration. There were different approaches to take, and Andy had to find out with us what was the best solution. He then build it, tested it, and reiterated wherever needed

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The integrations are working well, and our admin has reduced dramatically. We have channels set up to get a notification in case anything breaks, for example when we input incorrect data in the manual part

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I am super impressed. I'm not very technical, and didn't always understand the possible options, and with that didn't feel equipped to make a call which one to go with. Andy took me through the backend of it all, and explained step by step what I wanted to know. I got regular messages about the status of the project, and we could have a call whenever I felt this necessary. Andy's been very flexible with his hours, fitting our needs, and we are more than happy to contract him on further projects

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

There was zero focus on billing as many hours as possible, whenever we proposed something that wasn't getting an ROI for us, Andy will make sure to question that. His main focus is on fixing the quickest pain points for us first.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of Gibsonhaus Ltd, a design and digital marketing agency. We’re the creators of a mobile app aimed at facilitating creators, go-getters, and side-hustlers to create experiences with like-minded people in their local area.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Third Pig Software?

We had designed our app, and we were looking for development support to build it. We needed a partner that could provide full-stack development services and had good knowledge of platforms like React Native.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Third Pig Software helps us with our mobile app's frontend and backend development for Android and iOS. Initially, we provided them with the design and wireframes, which were created in-house. Since then, our in-house team has also been fundamental in the development process, so we have a very collaborative engagement with them.

The app is called Atmap, and it enables users to see events and experiences happening in their local area. It uses a location-based algorithm that helps users search for events by proximity, but it also has a browser to find public events. Users can also organize private events with their friends and give them directions.

Additionally, our app has a calendar integration and a payment processing system. These features allow users to organize paid events and transfer funds between the attendees and the hosts. Other features include checking in people into events, a review functionality, and a user-generated content functionality so that people can leave a written review of the events and include images in it.

Our mobile app has been in the market for a few months, and now, we’re creating its web version. As we can use the same backend coding for the web version, our in-house team is designing its frontend. Once they finish, we will get Third Pig Software’s assistance to develop it.

Our continuous development keeps progressing. We still have a lot of refining, testing, and implementation to do, and we’re looking to do our app’s first big promotion around August 2022.

What is the team composition?

We only work with Andy (Founder & Director), who has been in charge of the whole development. He is a lovely and wonderful person.

How did you come to work with Third Pig Software?

When we first started developing this app over a year ago, Andy was an employee of mine. Subsequently, 4–5 months ago, he decided to set up his own business, Third Pig Software. He transitioned all his workload into his own business, and we became his client.

What is the status of this engagement?

We officially started working with Third Pig Software in October 2021, when I got the first invoice, and we’re still working together.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Third Pig Software has created a quality product. So far, we have a five-star rating on the App Store, and our app’s adoption has been good. We’ve had slow and steady growth, and we’re happy to maintain it that way so that we can continue to get feedback from users before launching our app to a wider market.

The general internal feedback is that they’ve developed an exceptional platform for us. As for the users’ feedback, we’ve been told that ours is an incredibly slick, well-built, and professional-looking app.

How did Third Pig Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Third Pig Software’s project management has been very good all the way through. They’ve kept us well-informed about timelines, problems or hurdles, and development progress, and they’ve always met the deadlines.

We use a Trello board to keep track of the project, including upcoming deliverables, new features, and bugs that need to be fixed. We also communicate via WhatsApp and MS Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Third Pig Software feels like an extension of our organization. They fit seamlessly into our project, and they’re very approachable and extremely knowledgeable. Additionally, they’re able to spot and solve problems before we even know about them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if Third Pig Software grew to serve more people. They’re very valuable in their industry.

Understand that you’ll get a premium service hiring Third Pig Software. The result is going to be worth the investment.

I'm Managing Director for Make Good Grow. We are a special business with the sole purpose of support Good Causes to do more good. We support charities with recruiting volunteers to complete skilled projects, provide peer to peer support and mentoring and development opportunities.

For what projects/services did your company hire Third Pig Software, and what were your goals?

We hired Third Pig Software to create a bespoke web application, which aggregated data from a number of other sources including our website and CRM system. Populating the data in to a customer facing interactive dashboard showcasing the impact of their teams volunteering.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had previously heard of the great service and solutions Third Pig Software provided for other clients and projects and we were impressed with their approach and thorough attention to detail.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had an initial kick off meeting and agreed the project timeline and key milestones in advance. We identified the main issues that needed addressing and then it was very straightforward from there. We had weekly calls to keep in touch on the project and utilized platforms like Slack and Asana to keep on top of progress and communication throughout.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We just worked with Andy from Third Pig Software, he handled the whole project seamlessly.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

It is still too early to be able to provide measurable outcomes, as the project hasn't had a general / public launch yet, but we are very pleased with the finished product and very excited to be able to share it with our customers.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Third Pig Software was first class in their communication throughout and hit every deadline we agreed. Their project management style is agile - short sprints and always really responsive to amend and update and listen to our requests.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The quality of work, the creativity and the ability to problem solve and find a solution. We really couldn't be happier.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There is nothing substantial that we would say needed to be done differently or changed. We were 100% satisfied with the outcome.
