We needed a strong user experience and design in preparation for the launch of our marketplace. This was the final piece of the puzzle and we were looking for someone with expert user logic and design capability but also with an understanding of the Users that we are targeting.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were very pleased with their work. Given the vast experience, we have in the media industry, it was refreshing to have their team use their great logic to break the user experience down further. They tried to think of many key possible outcomes and designed the experience to adhere to that.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was fantastic. It was seamless. As in any new relationship, we learn from each other's workflow and then continue in the most efficient way possible. It was a pleasure receiving their sprint-related emails. We knew exactly what had to be done.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We loved their logic of the user experience. They understood what we envision and gave it some legs. Their explainer videos to guide us through what happened at the last sprint were very helpful.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There is always room for improvement with them and with every single company out there including ours. However, their areas needing improvement were not apparent and were not in any areas that affected our workflow at all.

They were very quick to respond and were highly rated and recommended. They took the time to listen and take on board any concerns we may have had.

Approaching this project we had our own methodology of layout the website, they took the time to understand that we wanted things done in a particular way. So they took the time to listen and understand what we were trying to achieve. After this, they went away and came back quickly with an approach that met our exact needs once the concept was agreed upon and our team were happy with the approach they went ahead and produced a whole design language that gave us results that we were extremely happy with and continues to be very satisfied with.

At each milestone, they asked for feedback and before proceeding making sure we were happy with everything being produced, this worked very well in my opinion as it guaranteed that we were in sync in terms of what was required.

Everyone was hands-on, any input required from specialists from in a particular area was involved, there was a real team positive dynamic and it was very enjoyable as you felt like you were in a room with experts and everyone's opinion mattered.

we have yet to completely implement the new design but are already seeing positive outcomes in terms of speed, usability and user experience from just the implementation of the new homepage site conversions have gone up by 20%, we are really excited to fully implement this design.

I can't fault it whatsoever, everything was clear everything was organised, feedback was taken on board very easily any questions we had were answered promptly and if something was unclear from our side they asked questions without hesitation and felt as though they truly wanted to produce something we would love and they did.

it's very rare to find people that want to understand what you are trying to achieve and they understand that doing this, in the beginning, makes for a smoother process, once everything was clear upfront the project went very smoothly. I really enjoyed working with them, it felt as though they have been working with us for many years, they stuck to the process and took the time to listen.

We felt like a priority. They answered us promptly, took care of everything as we had wished, the involvement of the whole team in a nice and respectable manner was also very impressive.

We've got a number of projects in a number of stages currently, from concept to live. In terms of tangible outcomes, picking just two: - On one project where The Room was given the high level objective of increasing conversion rates of a specific metrics, their new designs achieved a 300% increase - On another project which underwent UX testing, the results of the testing across dozens of participants were overwhelmingly possitive

Very. They use our preferred tools, toolkits and processes seamlesly. We communicate and plan effectively and they always stick to plan.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their UI/UX design skills have been excellent. While UI skills are quite common, true focus on UX is not.

I suspect there could be a lot of additional value if they looked beyond the specific projects we're working on into broader ways our product or process can be improved

How did you select TheRoom?

After a failed attempt to our initial UI design phase, we wanted to look for a team to be our long term partners to get our design thinking right and build a prototype that will set the benchmark for our developers to build a launch-ready product. We have invited over 10 companies to submit their proposals. TheRoom's proposal and their experience was clearly a stand-out.

The project was to review our UX design and improve, once that was done, the project was to create the UI and build an interactive prototype.

What was the team composition?

TheRoom team was very structured. All customer communications were handled by the dedicated Project Manager. For all sessions, we had the project manager and the chief designer attending so they can translate the customer requirements to the rest of the team appropriately.

Within 3 months from starting, we had our interactive prototype for the MVP (for both the Marketplace and the SaaS Solution) completed. We could start our development shortly after to minimize the time to market by 40%.

I’m the head of operations of a data technology company. We create IoT smart devices that connect with mobile applications.

What challenge were you trying to address with TheRoom?

We needed help designing the mobile applications that connect to the devices we create.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They help us design the UI/UX for Android and iOS mobile applications. They build the apps from start to finish, creating a profile, easy user flows for pairing mobile devices, a smooth UX for setting the parameters for the devices, and a review system that allows our users to record how they feel after using the products. It’s a collaborative process where we bounce ideas off them, and then they take those ideas to improve them with their own design touch.

What is the team composition?

Our main point of contact is Nikita (Co-Founder & Chief Designer). All of our communications are with him, but he has his own team.

How did you come to work with TheRoom?

We hired Nikita as a freelancer for one of our early projects, and he did an amazing job. His skill set kept growing, and he wound up forming his own company. He has a team that helps him now, but the results are the same in terms of quality.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together about four years ago, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m 100% impressed with their work. We’ve been working together for a lot of time, and I just love working with TheRoom.

How did TheRoom perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate through a Slack channel. We also do weekly presentations on Zoom whenever we’re in the middle of a design sprint; they walk us through the designs they create in an interactive Figma presentation. We usually have several questions, but they answer every single one of them. Other times, we go through and just make small changes. It’s a flat communication, and whenever we’re not in the middle of a design sprint, I always reach out to them to make sure they’re doing well in a Slack conversation as well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re good at coming up with ideas of their own, but at the same time, they’re great at bringing to life concepts that we have in our heads — I think that’s one of their strengths. I’m also always impressed with the design, the communication, and everything that goes into it. I also like how they accommodate our US schedule — it’s very convenient for us. Additionally, they offer free input whenever I have a random question that’s completely separate from their design job, which we think it’s a nice gesture. I can just reach out to them and bounce ideas around, and that’s also pretty cool.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything they could improve on — we don’t have any complaints. The only thing I can say is that it was complicated to do invoice payments at first. It was a minor thing, and it wasn’t even a dispute of pay; it was just complicated to set up payments. Once we got past that, everything was fine.

Any advice for potential customers?

I recommend knowing your product and what you want out of the engagement. The more you can describe your needs, the easier it will be for them to knock it out of the park and deliver a masterpiece. They’re the type of designers who you can give general ideas, and they’ll make something amazing out of them.

The website for GrapheneCA was created a few years ago when the company was founded. We wanted to re-new and re-design the website, making it more modern but keeping the logo and colors. Also, as a start-up, our budget for this task wasn't big.

TheRoom was recommended by another team who worked with them before and were satisfied with the result (TheRoom has developed the design for the app, company's presentation, and the website).

Before the kick-off call, TheRoom sent us a few questions (goal, audience, competitors, references, etc) to prepare. That's why the call was very productive. After that, we received the estimated budget with timeline and stages. Each stage was explained. After the approval, they started working on the website. The payments were also divided into a few after each stage, and it was convenient.

A project manager Nikita was our main contact and it was very convenient. Also, Nikita is not only talking about your project but also educate you on design and trends. Clients, team and investors loved the website. According to GA, the site traffic increased and we started receiving more qualified leads.

I did a few projects with TheRoom (including websites, landing page, presentations) and we have never had any problems with communications or timeline. Even when we might disagree, we always found the solution. Usually, the communication goes through Skype and emails.
