What challenge were you trying to address with TekInvent?

We needed to create mobile apps for our customers as an outside vendor. We wanted a partner we could trust to deliver good quality iOS or Android apps on time. We also needed their technical advice to help us successfully develop our projects.

What was the scope of their involvement?

TekInvent managed the complete development of the mobile application. Their services included implementing the UI/UX design, developing the iOS and Android apps, integrating the backend with the frontend, testing for faults and bugs, delivering the app, and providing updates and technical support throughout the course of the project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

TekInvent met all the agreed project timelines and requirements. The app's performance was stable, and all major bugs were fixed prior to the launch. Moreover, the client feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Working with TekInvent allowed us to increase the number of projects and the speed of delivery to our clients, thus confirming the overall success of the collaboration with TekInvent.

After collaborating with TekInvent, we sped up our delivery by about 30%. We managed to take on 25%–35% more mobile app projects without needing more in-house staff. Most app builds were finished 1–2 weeks quicker than before, while keeping the same quality.

After launch, the apps created with TekInvent experienced a significant improvement. Second, we reduced the time it takes for remote commands, such as unlocking the vehicle or turning on the climate control, to be executed by 30% from the initial baseline. Third, our app stores reflected high customer ratings, with an average of 4.6 stars, indicating that owners enjoyed the new features and design. Finally, we tracked the number of owners who frequently used the new core features, like the digital key and remote charging management. We saw over 70% of active owners linking and using the mobile digital key feature.

How did TekInvent perform from a project management standpoint?

TekInvent utilized an Agile Scrum methodology, structuring work into short, iterative sprints with clear visibility via tools like Jira. This allowed for continuous integration of feedback from our company. Crucially, TekInvent delivered the MVP with core digital key and charging functionality on the agreed-upon date, which was essential for aligning with the vehicle’s delivery schedule.We mainly communicated through virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive or unique about them?

We were thoroughly impressed by TekInvent’s profound technical skills in automotive security and their work with low-level vehicle integration. They really felt like a true partner, effectively navigating the complex challenges of secure digital key protocols and real-time vehicle telemetry. Their talent for delivering a fast and reliable application right on time was truly outstanding.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve their proactive resource forecasting. For instance, getting our senior security architects involved earlier could have helped us make key protocol decisions more quickly. Plus, if we had been more consistent with our daily meeting times, it would have better aligned with our rapid internal cycles.
