Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of SparkHouse, a video production and online marketing firm.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tehrani & Velez, LLP?

We hired them for small business tax filing and advice. Also, we were handling our own bookkeeping, but then realized they could keep a better pulse on our business if we added that responsibility to them.

What was the scope of their involvement?

To start, they gave us an assessment and based on that, they gave us different tips and advice about proper bookkeeping and tax filing. Since then, they’ve been filing our corporate and personal taxes every year. In the last five years, they’ve also taken over as our full-time remote bookkeepers. In addition to these tasks, they serve as our go-to resource for reviewing financial plans and strategies.

I mainly work with Gabriel, but there are about three others who maintain our account and help with the bookkeeping, too.

On a basic level, we haven’t been audited so that’s a positive thing. Over the last ten years, they’ve filed everything on time for us, so we haven’t run into any issues.

They always have a secretary that’s available, which is especially helpful when they’re all busy. Their other teammates are always able to handle the extra workload and deliver what we need on time.
