Tark came in and evaluated our existing product for what could be maintained, what was outdated, and what was architected improperly.  They provided an assessment and detailed roadmap to product modernization, which they executed over the subsequent four years. 

During that time and since, they have continued to extend the rich feature set of JPOS, with a solid grasp on the business needs and user profile.   The product has grown 10x in terms of features and capabilities since the initial engagement with Tark and we continue to rely on them.

They handle the entirety of the lifecycle, from development to testing, to deployment, and production support.   Tark is available 24/7 for production issues and has been very trustworthy and reliable.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The product has minimal production bugs and is incredibly fast; for example, button presses and screen navigation in the POS Order Entry are < 20 msec.  All processes that require processing are performed asynchronously for a maximal user experience.

Our users find the product's intuitive nature helpful in learning how to run operations that use it. The product is professional, which makes it easy to sell to prospective customers.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

• They use Jira and Confluence as work management tools.
• We hold weekly status check-in's, in which priority changes since the prior week are discussed.
• They deliver consistently on time and also have shown extreme flexibility when priorities change.
• They are very accommodating, but also don't hesitate to share concerns about processes when they could introduce risk.  This collaborative nature makes them ideal to work with.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have an uncanny ability to grasp new concepts quickly.  When they don't understand a topic, it's inevitably because we have not documented or explained it sufficiently up front, and they ask such great questions to help close those knowledge gaps.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Tark Technologies could have done differently?

It is difficult for me to think of any areas for improvement.  They have consistently delivered well.

We have consistently been able to rely on Tark to deliver what we ask for within the projected timeline. They are also highly flexible and always willing to make adjustments to accommodate our custom use cases and unique situations.
