BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the CTO of a parking lot maintenance brokerage operating throughout the US.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Taazaa Inc.?

Taazaa helped us design a costing tool for our sales team as well as the layout for a web app that will help our operations team manage jobs, services, vendors, and subcontractors.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I found Taazaa through a friend/CEO who had prior experience working with them to design apps for his company. We had a series of calls and emails to better understand fit.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Taazaa follows the Agile software development process. They jumped on design quickly while taking a few weeks to source a team for our project. We participated in the normal weekly/bi-weekly meetings such as sprint planning, demos/feedback, and so on.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I worked closely and frequently with the project manager and designer. I also had semi-regular contact with the tech lead Taazaa assigned to our project. There was less contact with some of the other members who handled the user story creation or junior developers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The outcome of the sales costing tool was a success. We went on to build the tool as designed and have that shipped. The Ops tooling design is continuing to be used to finish designing and delivering this tool for our Ops team.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our assigned PM was easily accessible and always on the ball with communication. The PM and designer were both US based and in close communication as the overlap in timezone differences was narrow. The rest of the team was based in India and created a larger communication obstacle.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I'm most impressed with Taazaa's CEO who also remained accessible throughout our time working together. He was extremely professional, kind, and enjoyable to work with. At every turn it was obvious that Taazaa wanted to please and deliver a satisfactory result.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Every project has its issues. Tazzaa is not perfect and neither were we as the client. In one instance we had a junior engineer staffing challenge that Taazaa swiftly moved to resolve. And while Taazaa never complained about it, I believe we as the client were at times too detailed during design reviews, leading to frustration with project pace. Taazaa remained 100% professional and enjoyable to work with despite any of the obstacles we encountered.
