We parterned with sweetfishmedia to help launch a new podcast – from coming up with a brand concept and name, to producing weekly content and distribution.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Grew our podcast YouTube channel from 0 followers to 429 subscribers in 6 months – with resulted in 44,291 views across 96 videos. The hosts also received feedback directly on calls that their videos were being watched by our desired audience.

Always on time, and always delivered what they promised. Very accomodating with changes but also professional when challenges were made – often putting forward suggestions and/or workarounds. Valued their communication too; espeically Christie Bellish who went above and beyond to document everything and send regular updates that helped us organise our own team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most infectious thing about the team was their passion for the project, and their genuine desire for us to succeed. This showed up as creative solutions and data-backed experimentation. The team were also open to feedback, challenged us where neccessary and made us feel in safe hands as the SMEs on the project. We really felt they listened to our briefs, and looked for ways to improve upon those rather than trying to push their own ideas upon us. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Sweet Fish Media could have done differently?

We struggled to demonstrate internally the ROI, so whilst views were on the rise and anecdotal feedback was starting to come through, it was hard to validate the investment when our CFO was asking for finanical metrics.

Our project included the full design of a B2B podcast, starting from scratch and including everything from designing the persona, creative, Youtube/podcast profiles, all video recording and editing, social assets, and paid media support. We receive two video/audio podcast episodes plus 6-8 YouTube shorts assets per month. Our team also travels to Sweet Fish to record 6-8 episodes in studio every 4 months or so.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

In the time we've worked with Sweet Fish, our YouTube subscribers have gone from 0 to over 4,000 and we share the podcast assets on our own company website and across our social channels. Over time, the number of people who watch our podcasts and stay through to the end have increased as well. Our word-of-mouth awareness has also been a win - We hear about the podcast when speaking to various customers/partners at events or on calls.

Sweet Fish is very much on time, always. We have a Slack channel that allows us to communicate quickly and they are great about setting deadlines for themselves (and for us) to keep things on track. Where we have asked for additional deliverables or changes to the scope, they have always been immediately responsive and made it happen.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I think most impressive would be how quickly they understood what our company does and how we wanted to weave our expertise into the wider cybersecurity space without over-selling the company or what we do. They asked great questions up front and provided us with a direction that fit well into our wider branding efforts. A year later, we're still going strong and seeing those efforts pay off

Are there any areas for improvement or something Sweet Fish Media could have done differently?

I know it's a newer avenue for them, but I think weaving in some of their additional video services up front would have been interesting. They've offered us so many different avenues beyond our podcast and where we've found synergy, we're struggling to find additional budget. If there was a way to look at everything up front and build a package from the get-go, I think that would work well.

We initially aimed for 300 viewers a month and quickly surpassed that goal. We now have thousands of subscribers and are growing daily. This significant growth occurred within the first six months of working with Sweet Fish Media.

In just over a year, This Meeting Could've Been a Podcast has around 40,000 views and listens. It's a major awareness driver of the Vector brand, allowing our target audience (B2B marketers) to get to know the people behind Vector marketing and allowing our team to build trust at scale. Our podcast downloads have doubled from season one to season two. The show's newsletter has a 50% open rate, and it's been more shared and talked about than 90% of shows on Spotify.

The series had a great reception, good audio and video consumption, and strong viewing of short-form content. It also had great value for internal and external stakeholders. We received great feedback from participants during and after the shoot.

We supplied a host and feedback, and they found other hosts and fully ran the whole show. The deliverables included podcast episodes and social media management for CISO Circle.

Sweet Fish Media’s work resulted in social engagement, watch time, and subscriber growth. For example, the YouTube channel ended up with over 1,000 subscribers by the end of season one.

How did Sweet Fish Media perform from a project management standpoint?

Every production project has its hiccups, but Sweet Fish Media handled each one like a pro. They were communicative about progress and priorities and meticulous with preplanning for episodes. We communicated via in-person and virtual meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Sweet Fish Media’s studio setup was really nice, and I was impressed with their pairing of the studio with the Creator House.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would have loved to try to keep the show running long-term as we envisioned. However, the original host’s schedule got complicated, and the project fell through.
