BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of global marketing for Prosci. We offer change management solutions around the world, mostly to Fortune 500 organizations, and we also offer the most well-known change management certification in the world.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Swarming Technology?

We wanted an upgrade from our Magento 1 website to Magento 2, but since then, we've worked with Swarming Technology for a variety of projects.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our project with Swarming Technology was migrating our Magento 1 website to Magento 2. After that was done we chose to have a dual system. Magento is our e-commerce platform, so we moved to HubSpot for our branded website content like our home page and other kinds of solution pages and blogs.

What is the team composition?

I've worked with around 5–8 different persons. The original project team no longer is there, but I work with my account manager, a project manager, and oftentimes I'll be on a call with developers as well.

How did you come to work with Swarming Technology?

Our hosting provider referred us. I met with Ian (Founder) and I really liked his approach — we felt he was very trustworthy. They made a bid on our Magento two upgrade project, and we ended up working with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working on the migration in March 2018, and we still work with them on an ongoing basis.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We keep track of the impact by looking at the performance of the website. We check the usability, the number of conversions, transactions, and other statistics and issues. That's the way we look at success, and so far, we haven't had any troubles.

How did Swarming Technology perform from a project management standpoint?

The communication with Swarming Technology’s team is good. We use different communication tools during and after the project to manage support tickets. We mostly use Jira as a project management tool, email for communication, and we are also using our Microsoft Teams whenever we need to get in touch with them right away — we have on-demand communication. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Swarming Technology’s team is very proactive, and we are very satisfied with the work they've done. That's why we continue to work with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had this discussion with them before, and they've really listened to the feedback. We wanted to keep the same developers assigned to our project. This is really important because we have a very custom solution. Ever since we had that discussion, they've kept the same developers assigned to us; the efficiency of the collaboration has improved. There are always ways for improving things that, but generally, we're very happy with their speed, communication, and their technical capabilities.

Any advice for potential customers?

Be really clear in terms of what your goals are and what you're trying to achieve. Swarming Technology is a good e-commerce company; they're not a huge agency, so you are going to get the attention that you need. It just really depends on what your goals are and how big of a company you are; if you're a massive company, Swarming Technology might not be the right company for you, but you're a small to medium-sized business, that doesn't have in-house developers, then I think they could be a good fit.

Also, I would advise making sure you assign a dedicated point of contact. Because oftentimes companies, if they don't have that clarity in terms of who's that point person, it just creates an inefficiency.
