Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm a COO of a Custom Software Development company with 13 years of track record, and I'm managing a team of over 20 developers to create technological breakthroughs for our startup customers

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire SuitedSoft, and what were your goals?

We were looking for somebody with expertise in AI and Machine Learning to help us ramp up with the solution design and technical leadership for a very complex solution for a real estate investment platform

How did you select SuitedSoft and what were the deciding factors?

They were recommended to me by a befriended company, and I quickly realized their expertise and experience in the AI field, as well as the ML solutions applied in the real estate sector. Furthermore, they proved to have strong technical leadership skills and that was the most crucial factor for us.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The scope of work so far included the discovery workshop, data science works, researching data sources, data cleansing, designing the model, designing the AWS cloud infrastructure for the model, leading and reviewing the work of the senior machine learning engineer, and implementing and testing the model to achieve high accuracy rate. All of that had to be in line with the law regulations related to the product we are building and it's what they did as well.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We are working directly with their top-level management.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

As we're deeply in an experimental project with them, they proved to be very strong at the R&D resulting in a Proof of Concept released on time, and they actually went the extra mile and managed to achieve results we were expecting from an MVP. The quality and effectiveness of the research and design phase as well as of the implemented model is astonishing.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

We are working in a "Scrum by the book" way, streamlining communication asynchronously via Slack and it just works. Their work was always on time, and if they had any issue, they always communicated that upfront to let us mitigate the risks.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most unique thing is that they have a very strong technical leadership skillset. Their startup mentality and entrepreneurial spirit combined with their technical skills proved to inject a tremendous value to the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It's really hard to point out any shortcomings. Especially in R&D projects, it's hard to blame anyone for minor mistakes. Nevertheless, I think that if reviewing the work of other team members was done even more often, it would contribute to small savings. Please don't judge it negatively though, it's really a small thing from the perspective of the overall quality of work they contribute.
