BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

Extended Stores is a online eCommerce platform where multi vendors can sell their products online using the platform. I am Mrs. Baby Dilip and I am the partner in the business.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Straightline Technologies, and what were your goals?

We had a thought of having a multi vendor platform locally where any seller can register using their TAX ID and sell their products online anytime. I had this concept and tried to find some developer or a team locally in the city and found Straightline Technologies as viable company to rely on by checking their portfolios and references that they provided.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We tried 2 different vendors initially back in 2020 and they didnt had knowledge and nor a team to complete the website that we requested initially. Found their profile in Google and happen to talk to Straightline and they arranged for a meeting quickly and we took their references and checked their portfolios and gave them a small task which they completed and showed us and that made us to shortlist them, they were professionals, no ifs and buts, they didnt lie to us by promising too many things, they laid the initial plan, including our milestones and goals, and update us on the progress inch by inch.

They laid a plan that had a working prototype kind off, and they promised 1 thing which is no goofups and no mistakes on the website. I am not sure of every minute technologies but we insisted on PHP, we are not taht familiar with technologies, we asked for website and mobile app. Website is done and app is still in testing phases.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

2 people were aligned to our tasks and they used a reporting tool and we had a demo website so they finish the task and show the completed ones so we verify immediately. One was Santosh - Lead programmer and Kesav - his downstream Developer. They were good in communications.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We didnt had the plan to have in-store pickup on the website but they recommended to have one as this website is towards shop local and support local.

They used skype, slack and whatsppp to communicate for meetings or reviews.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They did what they promised or written and showed us the progress.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They can improve on adding more developer to speed up the progress, they took roughly 7 months to develop.
