The agreed scope covered monthly bookkeeping and accounting for two companies, fractional CFO advisory, and assistance facilitating a Google business line of credit. Over the engagement (January–March 2026), the only deliverable actually produced was a single 2025 profit-and-loss statement, which my own CPA reviewed and found to contain material errors. No 2026 financial statements, no books for my second company, no monthly bookkeeping reports, no K-1 tax documents, and no substantive CFO guidance were delivered, and the business line of credit was never started.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

There were no measurable positive outcomes. After more than two months and $29,900 paid, my books were not maintained, I had no reliable financial statements, and the single deliverable I received — a 2025 P&L — contained material errors that my own CPA had to catch. The promised line of credit was never started. The engagement left my financials no better off and cost me additional time and money to have the work redone elsewhere.

Project management and timeliness were poor. The core deliverables — monthly bookkeeping, current financial statements, and the line-of-credit work — were not delivered on schedule, and most were never delivered at all over the engagement. When I raised concerns about the missing work and the errors in what was produced, the issues were not resolved, and my request for a refund of money paid for undelivered work was declined.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their sales and onboarding presentation was polished and professional — they pitch very well. Unfortunately, in my experience, that did not carry over into the actual work delivered.

Are there any areas for improvement or something STAXX LLC could have done differently?

The biggest thing: deliver the work that's paid for. In my experience they collected $29,900 and produced almost nothing usable over more than two months — one error-filled P&L and no ongoing bookkeeping or financials. They should set honest expectations: the business line of credit they presented as a deliverable was, on a recorded call, acknowledged by their own representative to be 'an absolute deliverable' that had not been started. And when a client points out that paid-for work wasn't done, they should make it right rather than refuse any refund. I'd advise anyone considering them to get every deliverable, deadline, and refund term in writing first.

What was the scope of their involvement?

STAXX LLC provides accounting, payroll, fractional CFO, and tax consulting and preparation services; basically, they work as our in-house finance team. The team balances all our accounts, watches our checking accounts, and manages our accounts payable and receivable. STAXX LLC also handles our payroll and creates reports. The team evaluates our numbers and advises us on what business moves to make. STAXX LLC creates forecasts, KPIs, and targets to hit. The team also prepares our taxes and provides consulting. STAXX LLC uses Xero to support their work.

What is the team composition?

We work with three main teammates from STAXX LLC, including a CPA, a CFO, and an operations person. The founders, Alex and Dylan, also jump in from time to time.

How did you come to work with STAXX LLC?

I had used one of the owners for tax help before. When he started STAXX LLC, I saw it on social media and got in touch with him.

How much have you invested with them?

We work on a service swap trade agreement. Considering the equivalent cost of our services, we’ve spent around $30,000–$35,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in September 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

STAXX LLC has saved us a lot of time. I’ve saved at least two hours a week, which is huge for me. Thanks to STAXX LLC’s financial planning, I’ve made smarter decisions and done things I wouldn’t have had the confidence to do otherwise. The team has helped me adjust how I sell my services because it’s clear how much I’m making on every service line and which service lines are the most profitable. STAXX LLC provides a lot of good information, so I can make choices for my business based on actual data instead of guesswork.

How did STAXX LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

STAXX LLC delivers on time and stays on budget. We communicate through Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

STAXX LLC gives us exactly what we’re paying for. They’ve never tried to upsell me or sell me unnecessary services. The team does what they say they’re going to do.

Get comfortable with handing over the reins and trust the process. If you do that, everything will go great.

STAXX LLC provides us with bookkeeping and fractional services. The team handles our financial records and tracks future and past projections. STAXX LLC has helped us set goals and understand expectations so that they’re achievable. The team has also helped us dial in our budget to help grow our business. Moreover, STAXX LLC provides a monthly CFO meeting to go over the milestones of the previous month. In these meetings, we cover the KPIs and dive deeper to ensure we’re on target for growth. If there are areas of concern, we dive deeper to ensure we have a clear plan and understanding.

I found STAXX LLC through an amazing reel on social media asking about bookkeeping and other fractional services. It was exactly what I had been searching for. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

STAXX LLC's reports give a clearer picture of the actual health of our business, which has assisted us in budgeting and tracking progress. Moreover, Eric's expertise allows him to identify trouble areas in the bookkeeping process, which lets us dig deeper into the data to determine if it's an ebb and flow or a critical concern. Overall, our books have been getting better every month thanks to STAXX LLC's awesome team. Additionally, the confidence that STAXX LLC brings to the table is contagious. The team has enabled us to feel confident in the path we're taking our business.

How did STAXX LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

STAXX LLC is ready and available. I've never had any deliverables late from them. We use Slack as our primary form of communication, but we also use email and monthly Zoom meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What I truly enjoy about STAXX LLC's service is the fractional CFO and CPA.

We transitioned between bookkeepers, but that wasn't out of the ordinary — it was just typical transition woes.
