Startup Talent is the tech startup industry's embedded human resources and talent acquisition team. We serve tech startups from Seed through Series E as one embedded team, and we offer two ways to engage.

Embedded Recruiting & HR Support: Our recruiters and people operations consultants work inside your company as your internal recruiting and people operations team, on a full-time or fractional basis. They work from your email domain, represent you on LinkedIn, and handle sourcing, interviewing, and hiring execution. The team scales up or down as your headcount plan changes.

Strategic Advisement: We provide fractional talent and HR leadership that audits your People, Process, and Tools and then builds and runs the fix. For startups whose hiring engine is stuck, we deliver a clear diagnosis and roadmap, design the process, implement the tools, and direct the embedded team that executes the plan.

Our growth tells the story. Between 2023 and 2025 we grew from 3 consultants, 7 startups, and 175 hires to 40 consultants, 116 startups, and 2,900 hires. Our clients see a 99% fill rate, a 96% offer acceptance rate, a 78.6% reduction in cost per hire, and roughly 50% faster time to fill.

Startup Talent was founded by Krista Kupau, who has spent more than 20 years building and leading high-performance talent teams at tech companies. She has scaled organizations from Seed through Series C and from 300 to more than 1,400 employees.
