Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Our platform was to offer a seamless shopping experience to users by integrating advanced search, product catalog and secure checkout. Users can browse products, view details and track orders. Mobile versions have the same functionality so the full functionality of the web platform is available on the go.

SparkMinds J.S.C. developed our web app and did the backend integrations. They used Angular JS, Python, HTML5, CSS3 and PostgreSQL as a database.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We didn’t have IT experience so we didn’t expect the challenges of building an Ecommerce platform. But they delivered a working product and our investor is very happy with the result.

We have over 1,000 users and will work with SparkMinds J.S.C. in the future based on the feedback we received.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Their project manager was very experienced and provided regular updates. Weekly tasks were assigned and completed through a shared task list on Jira. We could monitor progress which was very important for my CTO.

We visited their office for a few days at the beginning of the project to get to know the team and make sure we were on the same page. During development they presented design mockups through UXPin so we could comment online. We communicated through email and had Skype video calls every week.

We expanded the initial scope so the delivery date was one month longer than expected. But that was partly due to delays on our end.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Unlike other companies we have worked with in the past, SparkMinds J.S.C. organized workshops with us. They ensured a steady communication so I’ve already referred them to other customers.

Are there any areas for improvement or something SparkMinds J.S.C could have done differently?

SparkMinds J.S.C. could have briefed us better on the software development process. We expanded the scope partly because we didn’t know what was possible at the beginning.

They replaced one of our team members early on. The new person had the same experience and they informed us of the change but we would have liked to have been involved in the decision.
