Our aim was to reduce our bounce rate by improving both the UX and UI of the website, taking into account existing customers' needs that were already being addressed and not interrupting those after a revamp.

I personally interviewed and tested over 110 designers with great portfolios through Behance. SpaceBerry was one of those and after full design tests, SpaceBerry single-handedly blew away all the competition they came up against by their sheer ability for UX/UI, compassion for users and clear knowledge of what readers want without compromising on quality or timelines.

The talented team at SpaceBerry took genuine interest in each stage of the customers' current and ideal journey then helped to optimise that with elegant yet simple solutions. Inside the first weeks we had full on designs to look at and revise. I supplied constant iterations based on my own team's feedback to experiment with and explore different directions, to which their designer Bogdan absolutely nailed 100% of the time with a professional and supportive attitude.

We worked predominantly mainly with their project coordinators Valerie and Mila at the beginning to secure the contracts and project needs, after which we met Bogdan - a hard-working and knowledgable designer like no other I've met before.

Thanks to Mila and Valerie's efficiency in communication and the aforementioned Bogdan who's skills are from another planet which we've had the gratitude of borrowing to increase customer traffic as a direct result of his contribution. There is simply no other agency or freelancer that we go to now besides the talented team at SpaceBerry and while the project was wrapped efficiently, we've requested to leave the channel open to have access to their team in the future.

While my team communicated with SpaceBerry through myself via consolidated notes, communication has always been consistent, professional and responsive. Above all the workflow using Figma has been helpful to the project, never draining nor with any friction to the success of the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They truly do save time and money while adding value to a website. SpaceBerry create those elusive win-win scenarios we don't get with other agencies which is why we simply won't go to another agency any more. Of the dozens of studios I've worked with since our inception, SpaceBerry has been the only one that we've specially requested an open contract with after the end of a project because they really are that good and we will bring them in for every single future project for as long as they'll continue to take our business.

We posted the job to several job boards, and received over 500 responses. We shortlisted by the businesses that had a good portfolio and reviews online and eventually went with Spaceberry since their work was well aligned.

We met on Zoom and discussed the project and the motivations. Spaceberry brought their project managers to the meeting and we discussed scope, timeline and cost. Responses were quick and easy to manage. We agreed a priority and started to work through it. They would send me content to review weekly. However, in parallel I was able to see the work and ideas progressing in Figma which was great. I left comments and they replied. Very few changes were needed as the work was high quality. We agreed a second phase of the work and that has now been delivered. The final stage was for my to implement their designs into the product. Their work was set up in a way that made it easy for me to copy across styles, etc. We're about 98% of the way through implementation now and customer feedback has been super positive.

The client had conducted considerable research and had a business plan in place. Our team collected requirements and scoped out the project. We asked Spaceberry to step in when scoping was finalized and approved to start the design. In addition to the scope, our team put together a competitive analysis, target market analysis, and user persona research - all of which we feel Spaceberry did a great job of reviewing and analyzing.

For most of the project we worked directly with two people, a project manager and a designer.

Yes, the design work was delivered according to our timeline. The client is very happy with their work and attention to detail. We have commenced development on the project and the thorough level of designs Spaceberry provided, makes it easy for the developers to work with their design.

It was great. For most of the project we provided feedback via Figma comments, but when larger deliverables or discussions were had we would have meetings.

The level of talent and thought they put into the work. The design decisions they make are done for a reason, not just because. We trust them completely for our design and UI/UX needs.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Honestly, I can't think of anything. They are very flexible, we worked with them on a few projects with different types of clients - some hands-on, some hands-off and they seem to work well with both. So I have nothing but praise to offer :)

In a short time, they turned around a breathtaking modern design. They also followed a repeatable process of low fidelity designs, workflow etc. keeping us organized and within budget.

The pride in their work is palpable, and they want you to not be satisfied but excited about their work product. Very effective, They would gather requirements and suggest design direction, work in sprints, demo the work product, incorporate feedback. I did not need to spoon feed the design - I would share business needs and they would recommend a slew of options.

They have the best UX team, their process is repeatable and refined over many years to help deliver products on time and high quality and the pride they take in their work! The Spaceberry Team are always pushing beyond the status quo. They are hungry to be the best. It takes hard work to build a culture like that.

Regular meetings with the team are held to discuss product improvements. The workload is organized using sprints, which are groups of tasks recruited from the backlog based on the tasks’ priorities. For example, we are able to launch a sprint to create a new page with new functionality or to improve user flow.

We use a two-week sprint system with an agile project management methodology, a strategic session (every three months), and urgent meetings (if necessary). We use Telegram/Zoom for communication and Jira/Bitbucket/Confluence for tasks/files/document organization.

It is incredible how a small IT company can provide exceptional service and expertise. The greatest strength of Spaceberry Studio is its UI / UX design, project management, marketing, and software development. They are able to create outstanding products from a simple idea.

Like all clients, I would like for the product to be cheaper and completed sooner without a compromise in quality. Understandably, this is not possible, otherwise, it would have already been done. Because dynamic political media platforms deal with highly unpredictable content formats (e.g., extremely long breaking-news headlines, varying image ratios from old archives, or urgent alert banners), we had to design a few of these specific layout variations on the fly during the development stage.

If there is one area that could be further enhanced, it would be providing even more proactive suggestions and creative directions during the early stages of the design process. While they were highly receptive to feedback, additional initiative in proposing alternative design concepts could add further value.

That said, the collaboration was smooth and productive, and we were very satisfied with the overall outcome.
