Create an easy-to-use, simplified project documentation workflow for project based learning educators. Allow educators to easily distribute projects directly to whole classes or individual students utilizing best practices for information sharing. Allow students to view project information "just-in-time" to apply the information learned. Allow teachers to utilize a variety of compliance assurance mechanics to encourage student accountability and reflection of learning and project progress. Empower educators with an at-a-glance dashboard that provides key and pivotal information on students projects, progress, and skill level.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• Successful onboarding of new users including teachers and students. Fast project upload speed that can keep up with most live demonstrations. Decreased interruptions of educators from students allowing educator to utilize precious cognitive bandwith to better facilitate best teaching practices.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Software on the Road is amazing at delivering items on time and managing projects. They are a "bias-to-action" organization meaning that even during moments of confusion or lack of clarity Software on the Road is able to use their best judgement and keep the project going. They have yet to create re-work for themselves or myself despite my intermittent presence (I am performing my role as an extremely part-time, unpaid volunteer). 

They know how to operate lean and are one of the most efficient teams I've ever seen. I am frequently amazed by their work and their committment is contagious which is helpful when burning the midnight oil. If every institution I worked with could operate as efficiently as Software on the Road the world would be a much better place!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Software on the Road has the ability to take lean communication and deliver exactly what is needed. It is amazing what I have been able to pull off in collaboration with SOTR for as little communication as I have had to have. I work hard to ensure my communications are clear, but sometimes I can not keep up with SOTR output. Despite this, the results continue and always match or exceed my expectations. It is refreshing to work with such high productivity and not frequently feel bogged down by emails and meetings. In this regard, Software on the road was one of the best enterprises I had ever worked with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Software on the road could have done differently?

Honestly, I have little-to-no criticism to offer Software on the Road. If I had to peg a potential improvement in regard to the process overall it would be that I have struggled to get a read on what the development cost of some feature ideas are versus other feature ideas. Often times, I have wished for a more instantaneous metric of development cost of specific feature ideas so I could include that as a variable in my prioritization decision-making. However, I don't think this is always realistic and I have noticed my intuition improving in this regard as I gain more experience.
