The concept behind the whole project was to increase the monthly subscription rate of the customers. In the past few years, due to digitalization, the print industry in itself has faced a huge decline in subscriptions and overall consumer rate. Total sales for all audited consumer magazines, which make up about 65% of all the newsstand sales, fell to 169 million in the third quarter of 2017, which means a decline of about 12 million units from 2016. The Softtrix team worked for us and their package included developing PPC-optimized strategies to help increase sales.

The results that we got from the project were indeed remarkable. Since we partnered with Softtrix, we noticed greater sales in the first half of 2021. They grew our audience to focus on a broader age range, income levels and gender. Although we had previously limited our target audience to millennial women, we were able to test the waters to expand upon that audience. As a result of the team’s PPC efforts, the subscription rates have increased up to 65% YoY. Moreover, the paid subscriptions increased by 30% YoY as well.

The entire team managed time and communication extremely well. The team expanded beyond brand keywords into centre of the traffic funnel focused on magazine subscriptions. When they took over our account, the only subscriptions were coming from the title of our magazine. The people on the team were so smart that they were able to use a targeted audience such as avid and keen readers to put our brand in front of the user more often. They were also able to retarget our previous website customers with magazine ads as well.

Overall, we were highly impressed by the end results. The Softtrix team did something highly laudable and we felt like the budget we spent on the project was totally worth it. Although the company met up to all our expectations, we feel that more could be done in advertising via free online newsletters. This could come up as a great marketing strategy that could be maximized to its full potential by the Softtrix team. Nevertheless, in the end, we are highly appreciative of each team member.
