    Onboarding starts with a technical discovery session where we review the client's existing architecture, data model, and integration requirements. For RESTHeart-based engagements, this typically includes an assessment of the MongoDB schema, security requirements, and deployment environment. We then produce a short technical brief that documents our understanding of the project, the proposed approach, and any open questions. This brief serves as the foundation for the first milestone and avoids misalignment before development begins. Access to repositories, infrastructure, and communication channels is set up in the first few days. We prefer async-first communication with scheduled touchpoints, keeping meetings focused and infrequent. We document what we build, and we avoid creating dependencies that require our continued involvement unless the client explicitly wants a long-term support arrangement.

    We are focused on projects where MongoDB is the primary data layer and the backend needs to be production-ready, performant, and maintainable long-term. Typical engagements involve designing and implementing REST or GraphQL API layers on top of MongoDB, building custom RESTHeart plugins for authentication, authorization, or business logic, and integrating backend services into existing architectures. We are particularly interested in projects involving real-time data pipelines, mobility and IoT platforms, and AI-augmented backends where MongoDB serves as the operational data store for retrieval-augmented generation workflows.

    We typically work with three to five clients simultaneously, depending on project complexity and team allocation.
