BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of sales at a children’s gift company. We specialize in Amazon sales but we also have a presence on other platforms. Our B2B marketplace is quite robust as well.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Social Up Media?

We were trying to get outside off-Amazon traffic onto Amazon. We also wanted to help our Shopify platform and expand our B2B capabilities through SEO and Google Ads. We hired Social Up to give some of our other platforms a kick.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had already been doing a lot of PPC on our Amazon store, but we felt like it was important to establish ourselves beyond that platform as well. As more competition cropped up, the importance of establishing ourselves outside of Amazon became more apparent. That is why Social Up helped us create landing pages to get people into and out of that platform. Their team provided us with PPC and SEO services to help our website rank better as well. 

We give the team all of the creative assets that they would need. All of the images and copies are created in-house. 

What is the team composition?

I exclusively work with Jake (CEO & Founder).

How did you come to work with Social Up Media?

I met Social Up through a networking event. They had been recommended by some of my friends, so we decided to consider them for the project. We did a couple of rounds of interviews with other companies, but out of all of them, we liked Social Up’s pricepoint best. We also felt a more personal touch with their services as opposed to other companies that felt heavily corporate. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working around the end of 2019 to early 2020. We’ve been working with them since, and it has been a very good experience. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Partnering with Social Up has been extremely positive and beneficial to our company. Prior to 2020, our ad spend was hovering very low at about 2%–3%. Thanks to Social Up’s work, we’ve pulled that up to 8%. Our revenue has also doubled in the span of two years. We were anticipating a dip in sales due to the pandemic, but we were surprised to see it only get stronger. 

We’ve grown significantly in 2020–2021, and a lot of it has to do with the traffic that we generate off of Amazon. We’ve been very happy with this tremendous improvement over the past two years. 

How did Social Up Media perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re great at managing the project. I speak to Jake once a month to go over what has been done, what he’s seen, and what the numbers look like. We also exchange emails and schedule calls if any issue comes up. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The level of personal touch that they put into the work really stood out to me. They’re not part of our team, but they work in tandem with ours quite well. Engaging with them has eliminated the need to find an employee of their caliber because what they do for us is so much better than what we would’ve had to do on our own. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything.
