Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a department manager at Gall Thomson, a marine breakaway couplings manufacturing company dealing with about five brands. Ours are critical safety systems. For example, if an oil tanker drifts, our equipment ensures no oil spillage, preventing asset damage or people injuries.

What challenge were you trying to address with Soap Creative?

We needed help with our digital marketing, so we hired Soap.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Soap helps us with our marketing efforts. We already have detailed marketing strategies, so we don’t require an external company to develop those strategies. Therefore, Soap focuses on implementing tactics within those strategies. Their scope includes developing creative assets for our campaigns.

What is the team composition?

We work with around four teammates from Soap. Still, their team size varies depending on the task.

How did you come to work with Soap Creative?

I found a long-time colleague online when looking for a marketing agency, so we started working together through the company she was at. However, we left that company for a year and went with a different agency.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic really hit our last agency — they were falling apart. Therefore, I called my former colleague, who now was a partner at Soap, and met her business partner. Since then, my colleague has left the company, but Soap’s team is still there, so we continue to work together.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around £100,000 (approximately $124,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Soap in early 2020, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Soap is very efficient, so we can get more things done in a shorter amount of time. From that perspective, we can cover more ground and be more reactive to the industry, which gives us a commercial advantage.

On top of that, Soap is extremely cost-effective. We’ve saved around 30%–40% in our marketing costs by simply switching from our previous marketing agency to Soap. We’re still working with them because they’re very good.

How did Soap Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

Soap is very organized. When I worked with my previous agency and received artwork, everything was a mess and had no organization whatsoever. Although the natural state of an agency is chaos, Soap instead keeps everything organized and fights against that chaos, which helps everyone focus more on the quality of the project. 

Moreover, Soap has a very efficient hub system for task management. Whenever we need something, we have a virtual point of contact. On it, Soap can immediately see our inquiry, and they always get back to us very quickly. Then, they work on it and help us more productively.

Additionally, whenever we have a new project or task, we can set the status — it can be a scheduled project, a priority project, or an urgent project. We know that Soap has other clients, and they respect the fact that when we say something is urgent, we really mean it. Therefore, our entire collaboration has worked very well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The key element of working with Soap is their ability to assess the brief. They understand the fact that when designing a new marketing asset, a lot of other variables are involved. Given that our marketing is global, we need to communicate with people worldwide with different perceptions and contexts. Soap is very flexible, which makes them a lot easier to work with.

Additionally, as previously mentioned, Soap is very reactive. Other agencies might be able to eventually get the same things done, so it truly matters how long they would take to get there. Soap excels at being fast and getting things done quickly.

Usually, clients tend to be very picky and create vortex projects — they go around the same things over and over. However, given that Soap’s hub system is very efficient, it helps us keep efficiency in mind. Other agencies tend to focus on creativity, but in today’s world, creativity means nothing when it comes to marketing because everyone says they’re creative. Soap is different; they bring efficiency to projects.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything Soap could improve on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Present the project to Soap and watch them and study how they work on it; you’ll notice a remarkable difference. They have a particular way of doing things, which makes them very efficient.
