I am the Chief Strategy Officer at 1,000 Days, a global nonprofit that works to win support for investments in the nutrition and well-being of mothers, babies and toddlers in the U.S. and around the world.

For what projects/services did your company hire ShortKlips?

At a time when there's significant 'webinar fatigue,' we hired DC Visionaries and used ShortKlips to create a compelling video, working from interviews with colleagues in India and Africa, to explain predicted models of the negative secondary impacts COVID-19 will have on children under 5 in countries around the world.

We combined separate video interviews, spliced in b-roll and photos in post-production and aired the video as part of a global series.

What were your goals for this project?

We had an aggressive turnaround, and we needed high-quality production working interviewing colleagues around the globe (with less than great Internet connectivity). We needed to keep the interviews concise leaving enough time for live Q&A at the final portion.

And we wanted to enhance storytelling to bring the issues around the world right to the policymakers and advocates in the United States.

SOLUTION

How did you select ShortKlips?

I have worked with Shane for several years and always receive great customer service and high-quality products. He is never afraid of a challenge, and often I come to him with less-than-ideal conditions! ShortKlips gives me a lot of control to edit exactly what I want. It is user-friendly and simple to navigate.

By 'tagging' and making comments at exact timestamps, I can better guarantee the editor on the other side can incorporate my edits with complete accuracy.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

We managed four separate interviews and sent the .mov files to DC Visionaries. They loaded the videos into ShortKlips, and then we used the platform to upload b-roll (video and photo).

Once they provided the first stringout, I went into the program and made specific notes (simple click and text) of what I needed that correlated to the timestamp. Then we taped another video to fill in the gaps and make the video as seamless as possible, which they again uploaded and I made final edits via the ShortKlips software.

On the day of the webinar, I shared the video directly to participants, and when it was over, I turned the webinar live, along with the participants, and led a Q&A. The entire webinar was taped and distributed via YouTube and through promotional channels.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

Shane and his team were available every step of the way. We worked under tight deadlines, and they met every one. Once I jumped into ShortKlips, it was very intuitive.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• More than 140 people attended the webinar, which was our highest-attended webinar since COVID-19.
• We cut a few social clips from the taped interviews that performed well on our feeds and drove new viewers to watch the video.
• We received positive anecdotal feedback that it was a more entertaining, more user-friendly experience than previous webinars.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I have used DC Visionaries and ShortKlips across two organizations and will continue to use them in the months and years to come.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I shared some feedback with Shane about ways to even further improve the interface for non-tech people like me. It was well received and continues to be a great product.

What were your goals for this project?

The goals for the project was to create a short form web advertisement for social media for one of my company's clients.

I selected this vendor because I know Shane Yeager, and his work at DC Visionaries. I've worked with him before, and I know he's an outstanding individual that's great to work with. He told me he was creating a new company that specialized in pairing editors with clients to create a seamless workflow, and he invited me to be one of his first clients.

ShortKlips pairs their clients with a suitable editor that will fit all of their video production needs!

The primary team was an editor that was paired with me, and Shane Yeager from the ShortKlips team.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The outcome was considerably positive, as ShortKlips quickly paired me with an editor to work with. The website worked very smoothly, as it was easy to upload footage, have the editor upload cuts, then I can add comments as they adjust until I was happy with the product.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow between my team and theirs was fantastic, as there was an easy flow of information through the ShortKlips website.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

What I found most impressive about this company is how Shane Yeager used his expertise in production and post-production to create a product that I didn't think I would need until now.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I believe the only area of improvement is that they need more editors, but it is a new service that I'm sure will be more populated with more editors.

I am the Creative Director at LightSmith Productions and the Senior Creative Multimedia Manager at American Trucking Associations. I am the project manager for video and media productions at both companies.

For what projects/services did your company hire ShortKlips?

ShortKlips was able to offer several different levels on support for multiple projects. We were able to connect with several different freelancers to help boost our initial creative strategy and then move through the various stages of video production. From story boarding and script writing to production of content, providing footage (stock and original) and post-production to final content that we could share on our social platforms. The project management tools offered on their platform really helped our projects progress smoothly. Since the entire project was started and managed within the platform, we could communicate with the various freelancers very easily, offering feedback on drafts as well as collaborate to solve issues when they arose. We could store all of our content there as well; drafts of the scripts, images, video clips, music, voice-overs, rough cuts and final video files, etc.

Our goal to produce effective videos for our clients was achieved.

I connected with the CEO of the company on another project in the past. The need came up to try their new software.

We have an ongoing relationship with ShortKlips and have worked on several video projects. The projects include short social media video, animations, mini-doc promotional videos.

The ShortKlips platform has great communication tools built in. We were able to connect and provide feedback and critique to the freelancers we were working on on various projects.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to find success with the projects we were able to work on using ShortKlips. Each of the video projects were completed on time and according specs and outlined goals.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Before I used ShortKlips, the various steps of the my video production projects were scattered. We had to use several different websites and services to find talent and manage projects. All of the communications were done through email, which had a tendency to get messy and scattered. But on ShortKlips, we could communicate on the platform and it was all much more organized.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The platform as a whole was a very useful tool in getting our videos completed fast. The platform offers a lot of different tools from finding talent and freelancers, communicating with those freelancers, uploading and sourcing content like stock video clips and then sharing drafts of edits and final video clips.

There wasn't anything to dislike. The whole experience was great!

ShortKlips is a great product and service. This team is able to take a variety of film footage, images, and other video media, then tie it into a well-produced video short that captures the message and information we wished to exhibit. It is fast and affordable. The perfect tool for social media and even uses in interview presentations. These guys are great and you will not be disappointed.
