Guided PPC were brought in to manage and improve The Bump Plan’s Google Ads activity, with responsibility for the account setup, tracking, campaign structure, optimisation, performance reporting and strategic direction of paid search. The work was not limited to simply “running ads”. Their role covered the full Google Ads engine: making sure the account was technically sound, building campaigns around the right search intent, improving CPA, identifying wasted spend, testing new opportunities, and helping TBP understand how Google Ads should fit into the wider growth strategy. Key deliverables 1. Account onboarding and setup Guided PPC completed the initial onboarding process, gained access to the required accounts and reviewed the existing Google Ads setup. This included understanding The Bump Plan’s products, customer journey, existing campaigns, website flow, tracking setup and commercial goals. 2. Google Ads account restructure They reviewed the existing campaign structure and created a clearer plan for how the account should be organised. This included separating campaigns by intent and purpose, such as brand search, non-brand/inbound search, competitor campaigns, feeder campaigns and Performance Max activity. 3. Conversion tracking fixes A major part of the work was checking, validating and fixing conversion tracking. This was important because TBP needed reliable data on which campaigns were driving trials, subscribers and paid conversions. Without accurate tracking, CPA and ROAS decisions would have been unreliable. 4. Campaign creation and launch Guided PPC built and launched new Google Ads campaigns, including: Brand campaigns around The Bump Plan, Hollie Grant and related branded searches. Inbound/non-brand campaigns targeting people searching for pregnancy, postnatal and related fitness support. Competitor search campaigns. Feeder campaigns designed to gather search-term data and identify new pockets of intent. Performance Max campaigns to broaden acquisition opportunities. 5. Keyword and search-term management They reviewed search terms, added relevant keywords, removed irrelevant searches and paused poor-performing keywords. This was especially important when campaigns started attracting low-quality or irrelevant search traffic. Their job was to tighten the account so spend went towards people more likely to convert. 6. CPA and budget optimisation Guided PPC monitored performance against CPA targets and adjusted campaigns accordingly. This included reducing bids or targets where performance weakened, holding budget steady when scaling was risky, and focusing on commercially viable acquisition rather than simply increasing spend. 7. Performance recovery work When CPA spiked or conversion volume dropped, they investigated the likely causes and made corrective changes. This included identifying whether the issue came from search campaigns, feeder campaigns, irrelevant search terms, automated bidding behaviour, landing-page performance or broader conversion issues. 8. Reporting and performance insight They provided ongoing reporting and performance updates, including analysis of spend, conversions, CPA and campaign efficiency. They also helped explain what had changed in performance, what actions had been taken, and what should be watched next. 9. CRO and website conversion insight Their work extended into identifying when the ads were not the only issue. At points, the conclusion was that performance was being limited by the website conversion rate or checkout/user journey, not just by campaign settings. That made their input useful beyond Google Ads alone. 10. Microsoft Clarity and user-behaviour insight They set up Microsoft Clarity to help TBP understand how users behaved on the website after clicking ads. This supported better diagnosis of whether problems were coming from traffic quality, landing pages, checkout flow or user experience. 11. Creative and ad copy support They worked with TBP on ad copy, video ad guidance and testing different messaging angles. This included using approved copy, exploring pain-led campaigns, testing Meta-winning creative concepts in Google where appropriate, and improving ad relevance. 12. Strategic advice on Google Search changes Guided PPC also advised on the changing Google Search landscape, including the impact of AI-generated search results on ad visibility and performance. This meant their role included helping TBP think beyond the immediate campaign setup and consider how to futureproof paid acquisition as Google Search became less predictable.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Measurable outcomes from the project: CPA improved Google Ads reached a blended CPA of around £24–£29, with one later period dropping to around £19. Conversions increased Conversions increased while CPA improved, showing better efficiency without simply reducing volume. BFCM campaigns delivered attributed sales The campaigns generated 64 conversions in 7 days at around £32 CPA, with 124 conversions attributed to Guided PPC campaigns through discount-code usage. Performance recovered after CPA spikes When costs rose, weak keywords and irrelevant search terms were removed, bidding was tightened, and campaign costs reduced while conversions recovered. Account control improved The account became more structured, with clearer CPA targets, better search-term management, tighter budget control and stronger reporting

What stood out most was that Shopiator were not just narrowly “running Google Ads”.
