What specific goals or objectives did you hire Sheetcast to accomplish?

• Our goal was to modernize our reliance on Excel-based workflows that had become difficult to maintain across large teams. Specifically, we wanted a secure web-based platform where consultants and clients could collaborate without worrying about broken formulas, misplaced versions, or data integrity issues. Another objective was to elevate the client experience—our leadership wanted clients to feel that the tools we offered were modern, polished, and aligned with the reputation of a forward-looking firm.

The scope of work was broad and multifaceted. Sheetcast began with a discovery phase, where they shadowed our consultants and audited the way Excel files were being used across our practices. They then mapped out which tools should be converted into web apps, which could be consolidated, and which needed rethinking entirely. Key deliverables included a centralized platform with role-based access, client-facing dashboards that displayed key metrics, and interactive forecasting tools that mimicked the logic of Excel while adding automation and real-time data feeds. One of the more challenging aspects was ensuring that tax planning calculators could adapt to frequent regulation changes, but Sheetcast built flexibility into the system so we could make updates without disrupting client usage. They also created a secure audit trail feature, which was invaluable for our compliance team.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The most immediate outcome was the elimination of version control chaos. Consultants no longer spent time reconciling multiple spreadsheets; everything was centralized and always up to date. Clients noticed the difference as well during review meetings, instead of walking them through static spreadsheets, we could show them live models that adjusted instantly when variables were changed. This not only improved efficiency but also made our advisory sessions more engaging. Internally, onboarding new team members also became easier because they didn’t need to memorize complex Excel structures, the web apps guided them intuitively through processes.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Their project management was disciplined yet flexible. They set milestones, communicated progress clearly, and ensured deliverables were tested before release. Everything was delivered on time, even when we made mid-course requests. For instance, halfway through the project, we asked for a data visualization layer that wasn’t in the original scope. Rather than pushing back, Sheetcast gave us a clear plan on how they could fit it into the timeline, and they did so without disrupting the rest of the schedule. Their responsiveness was also impressive. We never had to chase them for answers if we raised an issue, we typically received thoughtful recommendations within a day or two.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out most was their ability to translate highly technical Excel logic into user-friendly applications without losing functionality. Many developers can build apps, but few take the time to understand industry-specific workflows the way Sheetcast did. Their balance of technical depth and business acumen was unique. They also demonstrated genuine adaptability—whether it was regulatory requirements or client feedback, they were quick to evolve the solution.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Sheetcast could have done differently?

The only improvement we would suggest is expanding their post-launch documentation library. While their team was always available to provide training and answer questions, a more comprehensive set of self-service tutorials and case examples would have helped our internal teams become independent even faster. That said, the quality of their ongoing support largely compensated for this gap.
