Our Story

SEVENSCOPE was founded in Funchal, Portugal, in 2017 by Tiago Tomás and Elson Ponte, who still run the company and still work on client projects.

We are built around one question: what limits this business, and what does that limit cost over a year? We answer it before deciding what to build, and we measure the result against it afterward.

We keep the team small on purpose, so the people who make the recommendation are the people who write the code, and we stay involved after launch.

Most agencies hand a strategy to a delivery team and the reasoning gets lost on the way. Here the people who analyze the customer journey are the people who write the code. We do not recommend what we cannot build, and we do not build without a commercial reason.

Before a redesign or a campaign, we map where people give up on your site and what that costs over a year. That figure sets the scope and becomes the benchmark we are measured against. It is also how we tell a client when the work they asked for will not move the business.

We are taking on two kinds of work right now. The first is new digital presences: companies launching a website, a store or a booking platform that has to perform from the first month rather than exist as a brochure. These start with strategy, so structure, content and technology follow a commercial goal instead of a template. The second is existing platforms that are not producing what they should. A site with traffic and no bookings, a store with abandoned carts nobody has diagnosed, a process still running on paper inside a public service. We map the customer journey, find where people give up, put a number on what that costs over a year, and build the fix. By sector, we are strongest in tourism: tour and activity operators, hotels, diving centers, golf clubs and rental companies. We also work with e-commerce brands, healthcare practices, construction companies, property developers and media organizations, and we support Portuguese public administration bodies implementing the Agora Design System. We also take white label work, reinforcing the technical teams of other agencies under NDA. What we are not looking for is a build with no measurement attached. If a client wants pages shipped without agreeing on what those pages should change, we are the wrong partner.

Onboarding starts before the contract. It begins with a discovery call, where we work through the business goal, the current numbers and the constraints that are not negotiable, such as booking systems, ERPs or regulatory requirements. If there is an existing platform, we audit it first: traffic, conversion paths, technical performance, content and the tools the team uses day to day. From that we produce a written proposal that states the problem, the opportunity we believe is there, what we will build, and how the result will be measured. Nothing starts until the client agrees with that framing, because it is also the benchmark we hold ourselves to later. Once the project is approved, we set up the working environment: a shared project space in ClickUp with the plan and milestones, access and hosting arrangements, analytics and tracking, and a named point of contact on our side who stays with the account. The first working session is a kickoff where we align on content ownership, deadlines and who approves what. Most delays in this kind of project come from content and approvals, not from development, so we settle that in week one.

Every project has one lead who is accountable for it and who is also working on it, not managing it from a distance. We plan in ClickUp, which is where the scope, milestones, tasks and decisions live, and the client has visibility on it throughout. Work is broken into phases with a deliverable at the end of each one, so progress is visible in the product rather than in a status percentage. We run regular checkpoints at a cadence agreed at kickoff, weekly on active builds and lighter on continuous improvement work. Between checkpoints we communicate asynchronously by email or Slack, and we use short recorded walkthroughs when something is easier to show than to describe. Changes of scope are handled explicitly. If a request changes the timeline or the cost, we say so before it is done, not in the invoice. After launch the project does not close. We move to continuous improvement cycles: measure, prioritize, implement, measure again.

We do not publish an average ROI figure, because an average across clients of different sizes, sectors and starting points would not tell you anything useful about your own project. What we do instead is agree on the number before the work starts. In the discovery phase we quantify the opportunity: how many people reach the site, where they give up, what a recovered visitor is worth, and what the gap costs over a year. That figure sets the scope and becomes the benchmark we are measured against afterward. We track outcomes rather than activity. Bookings, orders, qualified inquiries and cost per acquisition are the metrics we report on. Traffic and rankings are diagnostics on the way there, not the result. We are also open when the numbers do not support the work. If the analysis shows the return will not justify the investment, we say so and propose something smaller, or nothing at all. That is part of why clients stay with us through several cycles rather than one project.

It depends on scope, and we prefer to give a real date rather than an optimistic one. As a guide, an institutional WordPress site runs 6 to 10 weeks from the discovery call to launch. A WooCommerce or Shopify store runs 8 to 12 weeks, depending on catalog size, payment and shipping rules, and integrations with booking engines, ERPs or CRMs. An audit and strategy engagement, where the deliverable is the analysis and the plan rather than the build, is considerably shorter and usually measured in weeks. Smaller interventions, such as a conversion fix, a performance problem or a new set of templates, are scheduled inside our continuous improvement cycles and turn around much faster. The variable that moves timelines most is not development. It is content and approvals on the client side, which is why we agree at kickoff who writes what and who signs off, and why we sequence the work so that development is not waiting on a single person.
