My husband and I own a painting tool manufacturing company, and I handle the administrative responsibilities.

What challenge were you trying to address with Selena Fogg, CPA?

We needed a bookkeeper and an accountant. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Selena Fogg, CPA handles our month-to-month tax filings and anything that has to do with the government, Social Security, and other related areas. She also handles our tax filings at the end of the year. She works for our business and for us personally. 

She provides business consulting as well. She coaches us anytime there’s something that we need to know about our company or how we could do things better financially. She helps us in managing our QuickBooks account, too. 

What is the team composition?

Selena (Owner) operates on her own, but she used to be in partnership with someone else.

How did you come to work with Selena Fogg, CPA?

A web company that we worked with introduced us to Selena Fogg, CPA. 

How much have you invested with them?

We play a flat rate of $350 per month, and that gives us access to all of her services. I can call her up and ask for assistance on Quickbooks. It also pays for the monthly and annual filings that she does for us. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in the middle of 2016 and our partnership is ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Having someone who is an expert in managing finances that we can rely on not only makes us smarter but also helps us make sure we’re not making big mistakes that will damage us personally or organizationally. We feel a sense of security in having her on our team. 

My husband and I aren’t financial wizards. Selena helps us keep up with tax law, which changes every year. 

How did Selena Fogg, CPA perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate via emails and phone calls, and we occasionally meet in person. We really like her as a person, so it’s nice to go visit her.

What did you find most impressive about them?

She looks at every one of her clients as individuals, and she doesn’t try to do her work in the shortest amount of time. She always tries to find out how she can help you personally based on what you and your business are doing, instead of just trying to do everything all at once. She’s not so overburdened that she can’t look out for us in addition to her other clients. She also seeks to educate herself more and more. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Frankly, I can’t think of anything. I hope she never gets so busy that she can’t provide all of the services that she currently does. She’s smart enough to keep hiring people, though. She’s an excellent human.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I have sent several people to go work with her. I would just encourage anyone to go and find out if they’re a match with her. It’s always worth exploring. Talk to her and find out what she can do for you.
