Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the marketing coordinator for Seven Mile Casino. I help with the website design, updates, and everything else regarding marketing. Our parent company is Elevation Entertainment Group. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Second Sight Design?

The project that Second Sight Design helped us with was the web design for Seven Mile Casino.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We did have a website, but Second Sight Design designed this new one completely from scratch using WordPress; the site was based around our new logo. We gave them all the information that our business offerings and the types of content that we wanted on the page, so they took that and designed it from there.

What is the team composition?

I work closely with a programmer.

How did you come to work with Second Sight Design?

It was a decision that came from upper management. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working on the project around January 2020, and right now, they are still helping us.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We launched the new site during COVID-19. Our whole business is operating backward, so I don't really have metrics to go off of right now.

However, everyone on our team really loves the new design. It's clean and easy to read. Second Sight Design has been really helpful in getting information on the site that we weren't able to get with on our previous one. For example, we really wanted our casino’s jackpots to be live on our website, which they were able to integrate. Our team is very excited about that. The user-friendliness of the site has improved drastically.

How did Second Sight Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Second Sight Design’s team has been super helpful every time we need to know how to do something. When we want an extra design element added to the website, they will help us. We communicate through phone, email, and Zoom calls. Any time they have any questions, they send an email to put together a checklist. We do a lot of Zoom calls where we can go over different design options for the website. They've been so thorough and haven't missed any detail — it's been great to work with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I don't really have any other experience to compare Second Sight Design with, but it is a great experience working with them. Whenever I had any questions, they were always readily available to help us no matter what. Furthermore, I know that they're busy, but it seemed like we were their only clients — it was really cool.

Their design is unreal. It's beautiful, and every single option that they gave us was gorgeous. Their communication style was also great. They went above and beyond, setting up a whole training about the site’s backend for us. To this day, they still ask us daily if there's anything they can do to help. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not that I can think of.

Any advice for potential customers?

I would say 100% do it. Second Sight Design’s teams are wonderful.  I didn’t even have to tell them how I wanted the work to be done. Just reach out to them, and you're going to get the best service available.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I work for Eat.Drink.Sleep., a hotel management/development company. As Director of Sales & Marketing, I lead our outreach efforts for group and leisure sales/

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Second Sight Design?

We needed help rebranding and revitalizing a "no-tell" motel into something with family appeal. Second Sight did it all - naming, identity, signage, custom art and web design.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed to dramatically change the perception of the product in the market place to tie in with the extensive remodel we were undertaking for the new ownership. Second Sight worked with us hand in hand during the remodel process to identify places to make the new brand come alive.

Our budget was 1.9 million for 112 rooms, common areas, a new coffee shop and more, so they were really creative in devising low cost ways to get a lot of bang.

SOLUTION

How did you select Second Sight Design?

We had worked with Second Sight previously.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

Second Sight was in our early meetings as we discussed our goal and budget for the remodel. It was important to us that the property was repositioned in a totally fresh way. We had check-ins ever few weeks as the remodel progressed. Because we were dealing with construction crews, we needed a lot of flexibility from Second Sight.

They handled it like pros. In the end, they produced the branding, extensive signage, art installations in the guestrooms (there were something like 30 different designs for this portion!), art in the lobby and all of the on-premise collateral. They also helped create instagrammable moments throughout the property. Additionally, they did our web design.

What was the team composition?

I worked with the creative director and web developer directly. They each worked with a team at their office, but our point of contact remained consistent. Second Sight coordinated all of the other vendors they needed to complete the project, which was a HUGE relief.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We couldn't be happier with the outcome. Soon after opening, we were recognized as the Best Hotel in South Bay, which I contribute almost entirely to our new look!

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The communication was very effective. When we provided feedback, it was always received professionally. We met every two weeks during the course of the project, sometimes more. Second Sight kept on track even though the construction side didn't! They went above and beyond to accommodate us. We used Basecamp to manage workflow.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were so thoughtful and intentional. They identified unique (and on budget) ways to communicate to the guest at every touchpoint.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I really can't think of anything.
