I’m the frontend team lead for WordBee. We work in the translation localization business.

What challenge were you trying to address with Screen Frontier?

We have a TMS (translation management system), and we were working on a new project with a new interface. We needed some UI/UX design work.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We integrated Screen Frontier into the project with our internal development team. We explained the specs of a new feature, and the team came up with the design, and we implemented it. 

What is the team composition?

Tudor (Founder) is my point of contact.

How did you come to work with Screen Frontier?

I worked with Tudor at a previous company. When we were discussing this project, I recommended him, because he does great work.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them around November 2019, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Screen Frontier worked with us to find the balance between minimalist design and decent UX with high-speed functionality. Everyone was happy with the look, feel, UX, and overall product when we did an internal release. 

How did Screen Frontier perform from a project management standpoint?

Tudor and I work in close contact with one another. He puts a lot of effort into making us happy, and he puts a lot of hours into the project. I have no complaints.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I enjoy discussing the latest trends in UI/UX with Tudor. He has done a lot of research and has enlightening ideas.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I have no suggestions.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Let them fully understand your business and your customer needs. Screen Frontier does a great job with simple projects, but their strength is complex UI/UX.

Figure out a easy way to manage the schedule and all the related tasks for public services

How did you select this vendor?

We have worked with Screen Frontier in the past and we always had a great working relation, when we have challenging new UX apps they are the first choice that comes to mind

Describe the project in detail.

We started out with studding the competition and understanding the current landscape, They then proposed wireframes for all the main flows of the user. And finally provided final pixels. We also had a couple of meetings to go over the implementations.

What was the team composition?

Tudor was our main contact and worked with us on our own schedule

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The design phase was done on schedule and we had all the support and assets available to use.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Tudor is really easy to communicate to and proactive.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I really like the fact that we spent some time making sure the wireframes covered the user flows and we understand our users before jumping into final pixels

Are there any areas for improvement?

There are always ways one can challenge a design or some usability feature but this team is ready to adapt and provide solutions.

Please describe your company and your position there.

Edge data centers, from construction to management. I started as a Product Owner for the web-based application product managing their data centers. I then became the Head of Software Development.

For what projects/services did your company hire Screen Frontier?

We needed to re-vamp and to improve both functionalities and UX/UI of the web-based application used for managing our data centers.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal of this project was to redesign the entire application with a modern and user-friendly interface for our users.

How did you select this vendor?

Screen Frontier was already working on this project when I started. Although I had other UX-UI specialists I worked with I could contract for this project, I decided to keep them due to the quality of their work, knowledge of the product, as well as their flexibility to adapt themselves into the agile and dynamic environment I had implemented for this project.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They provided professional and innovative user interfaces for the product. Always available for reviews and feedback within our fast-pasted agile environment. I liked their proactive mind for suggestions and improvements. They were always available for the team when needed , even outside of our dedicated meetings putting the quality of the product as primarily focus.

What was the team composition?

It was a distributed team of front and back end developers, QA engineers, DevOps and a Product Owner. Some locally based, some working remotely from various locations and time zones. Its size changed from 5 to 7 individuals over time.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We worked on this project using the agile Scrum methodology with a 2-weeks cycle. This enabled us to both improve and build new functionalities while collecting regular feedback from stakeholders and end-users at the end of each iteration. This project has had a significative impact on sales and on customers satisfaction.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

As previously mentioned, this project was managed using the agile Scrum methodology with a 2-weeks cycle, and driven by individuals based on different locations and time zones. Therefore all our sessions and meetings were held by videoconferences, calls and chats.

The entire project documentation stored in Confluence, and tasks managed by Jira. All accessible from the company cloud space. Screen Frontier has been part of the team like any other members of it. Very effective using our tools and on collaboration.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The team has been very professional. They are constantly collaborative, effective, proactive, and always quality-focused. Screen Frontier was no exception to it. I never regretted my choice on working with them.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They sometimes missed our regular sessions (planning, backlog refinement). As a result, we had to catch up on latest changes that could occur in such dynamic environments. This had very little impact on our project as we were constantly collaborating with them but this is a risk that could be avoided.
