Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of product at Astrolabe Analytics. We develop advanced battery health analytics solutions to improve the efficiency and reliability of energy storage systems across various industries using data-driven technology.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Scion Tech?

We needed a DevOps and cloud services provider to help us with our cloud-deployed software.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Scion Tech provides us with DevOps and cloud consulting services. The team helps us with all tasks related to our cloud-deployed software, from initial deployment to maintenance. For instance, when we want to deploy a new demo platform, we tell Hardik (Co-Founder & CTO) what we want, and he figures out how to connect our existing infrastructure to it. He also helps us deploy the new services needed.

In terms of technologies, Scion Tech uses the full AWS suite, specifically IoT Core, Kinesis, DynamoDB, Lambda, EventBridge, S3, SageMaker, and API Gateway.

What is the team composition?

We work with two teammates from Scion Tech.

How did you come to work with Scion Tech?

Our founder met Scion Tech’s CEO through a mutual friend. When I came around, the team was already providing services to our company.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Scion Tech in 2020, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Scion Tech behaves like a team member for us. The team has enabled us to quickly deploy our technology for our customers to use.

How did Scion Tech perform from a project management standpoint?

We work on largely ambiguous timelines, so we do the project management. We communicate via Slack and online meetings every 1–2 weeks.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Hardik is great to work with.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We're impressed with Scion Tech's can-do attitude, breadth of knowledge on AWS-related topics, and fast turnaround times. Hardik and the team are great to work with. Despite the time zone difference, Scion Tech makes an effort to be available for us even at their late-night hours.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can't think of anything.
