I’m the founder of a student risk management app.

We needed help with app development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, they helped us look at what our core issues were.  We looked at what existing technology was already out there. After, they developed and deployed a new version of our app for iOS and Android. They worked in .NET and Xamarin. Their work is ongoing with updates.

We worked with three people from their team.

I worked with their founder previously.

We’ve spent $30,000–$40,000 AUD (approximately $21,500–$28,500 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2020, and our work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’ve tested the app and the minor updates were implemented.

How did Savvient Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We used spreadsheets to manage feedback, which worked for us on that small scale. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication is clear and they raised any issues early. It was all quite good.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if there were a better way for us to log bugs. It works great for what it is, though.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear on what you want to be developed. Provide designs to guide the process as well. The clearer you are with the communication, the faster the project runs.

The Murwillumbah Community Centre Inc (MCC) is a centrally located not-for-profit, community-based organization which provides a diverse mix of social support services and facilities for the Tweed shire community, with a particular focus on Murwillumbah and its surrounding localities.

Design and develop Indigenous Wellbeing App for Young people aged 12-25 years. High level consultation was required and attention to detail to ensure cultural safety and sensitivity of the app App included original video content and links to mental health support services.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Savvient worked have all content and artwork uploaded withing a very short timeframe. They were flexible and adapted to changing project need as community issues arose. The community partners and stakeholders have been blown away by the quality of this app. It is unique in our area and has received overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Absolutely - Savvient worked to deliver this project on time and coped with additional work that arose due to changing needs of the project. They exceeded our expectations.
