Retail Solutions ZA is a custom software engineering studio based on South Africa's Garden Route. We design and build production-grade platforms — web applications, AI-powered automation, and computer vision systems — for businesses that need software shaped around how they actually work, not the other way around.

We're a deliberately small, senior team. Our founding engineer brings experience from petabyte-scale data systems on the MeerKAT radio telescope project to enterprise retail platforms, and our CEO brings 25+ years of operational experience across retail, logistics, and property — so we understand both the code and the business it serves.

We earned our stripes in one of the hardest proving grounds there is: the retail floor. Our flagship product, ShelfSense, turns a store's existing IP cameras into a real-time shelf-monitoring system, running AI inference on edge devices so video never leaves the building. Around it we've built a full operations ecosystem — invoice processing with multi-role approval workflows, merchandising task management, and supervisor tooling — deployed and used daily in live trading stores. If our software fails, shelves sit empty. It doesn't fail.

That discipline carries into everything we build for clients: FastAPI and React platforms on PostgreSQL, clean hexagonal architectures that stay maintainable as they grow, containerized deployments, and AI integrated where it earns its keep — not where it looks good in a pitch.

We work with companies internationally as a direct engineering partner or as a white-label team behind your brand. Based at UTC+2, we overlap naturally with European working hours and US East Coast mornings.
