I’m the owner of a production company that specializes in digital marketing for large corporations, small businesses, colleges and universities, and elementary and high schools.

For what projects/services did your company hire Redd Pen Media, and what were your goals?

MainLine Focus hires Redd Pen Media as much as Redd Pen’s schedule will allow. This particular project we are highlighting was for the Community Partnership School. The school was looking for a creative way for digital fundraising.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

CPS has a large gala every year. This gala contributes the lions share of their funding each year. Due to Covid they were unable to attend. MainLine Focus proposed an on line virtual gala. We selected Redd Pen because they are the best in the business with these types of projects.

This project was very detailed. We conducted interviews, filmed live performances, and teleprompter readings over four production days. We created 45 minutes of pre-recorded content. This content was showcased to appear like a live event with the final 15min actually live streaming. We also creating 15 pieces of dynamic social media edits to promote the virtual event.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were four members of the Redd Pen team working on this project. Director of Photography and Sound Mixer. Cam Ops, Gaffers, and Key Grips.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

CPS Philly raised $273k before our team was hired. By projects end, we reached over $1million raised.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was seamless. Redd Pen PG’s attention to detail and communicate effectively so the entire process was a huge pleasure!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most impressive Redd Pen's quality is their expertise and willingness to try out-of-the-box techniques.

I'm the Director of Marketing for natural haircare brand NaturAll Club.

For what projects/services did your company hire Redd Pen Media, and what were your goals?

Our fresh and frozen products needed a little more love on the storytelling front and we want to give them the attention that they deserved for our new commercial and long form origin story video for our site.

We utilized Redd Penn's skills in producing, directing, and script writing to bring our products, CEO story, and brand to life.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I've worked with Redd Penn in the past and with every project they proven themselves to be creative, collaborators, reliable, and goal-oriented. They make productions not so scary and seamless.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

The first step included Redd Pen getting to know the brand and our CEO story through various interviews with the CEO. They then created a storyboard that would help inform the commercial script.

From there, we collaborated on the script, location, and cast. We then worked toward setting a film date and filmed for 2 days with a 3 day turnaround for the first draft. Super fast and thorough process!

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

Juan and his crew are always a delight. They are super personable, knowledgeable, and overall fun to work with!

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We've gotten great feedback from customers and social media followers which has led us to believe that the commercial has helped the brand with awareness.

Redd Pen's project management style was loaded with communication via email, calls, and text. They are great communicators as they never keep you guessing as to what the next steps are.Their timeliness was the most efficient that I've experienced with any other video production agency.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to understand and execute our vision while being creative, yet still branded to NaturAll Club. Their storytelling approach is also concise, yet impactful.

Redd Penn has assisted with video and photography at large and small scale puma events. I specifically worked with them on Foot locker and foot locker inc activations. They not only captured content on site but also create amazing photo galleries and video recaps for us that can be used post event on social/digital channels.

What were your goals for this project?

Capture impactful content that can be used to provide an internal recap to the internal puma team, and be used on account (in this case foot locker or foot locker inc) social/digital channels to create additional awareness post event.

My manager had worked with Juan on previous projects prior to her job at PUMA.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

The Redd Penn team is amazing from start to finish. Typically we would brief them on a project via email, and then jump on a call to discuss the event in detail. Juan and his team always arrived early to our events which gave them plenty of time to test things out / set up before start time.

Redd Penn never rarely ever misses a deliverable, and if they did it was because it was something out of their control. Post event, Juan and team got straight back to work and would turn around video recaps and final photo galleries overnight. Once they deliver the final files I would review and provide any feedback. If there was any feedback Juan and team would make any edits in a timely manner so I could deliver final files to the account (in this case foot locker or foot inc)

The team is made up of some amazingly, dedicated, talented and passionate individuals.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Amazing feedback from my team (both internal and external) about how the content came to life, as well as solid sell thru in regards to the products featured in the content.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. It didn’t take much more than 1 project for us to develop an understanding of how each of us work (PUMA and Redd Pen), and have a seamless work flow.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their ability to learn so much about not only PUMA but also the accounts (foot locker, and foot locker inc.) we work with so quickly.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Redd Pen Media.

Please describe your company and your position there.

Saint Joseph's University is a private Jesuit university located in the Lower Merion area of Philadelphia. It has around 8000 students, with 36% of those being graduate & post-graduate students.

In my roles as both Market Research Analyst and formerly Assistant Director of Marketing for the Graduate College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Health Studies and Education, I oversee the marketing efforts for those areas. This includes content strategy and working with digital media companies to procure and produce videos and testimonials for marketing purposes.

We hired Redd Pen Media to create a series of videos that would highlight the success of our Alumni here at Saint Joseph's University. We needed an upgrade on our video presentation for our social media platforms and email marketing.

We were impressed by Redd Pen Media's work so we decided to hire them to produce, film, and edit these series of videos.

What were your goals for this project?

Our primary focus for these videos were to increase enrollment interest. We used the videos on particular webpages, email blasts, and social media networks to promote our success stories.

How did you select this vendor?

I was referred by a colleague about Redd Pen Media and thoroughly went through their work to see if they would be a perfect fit for our visual needs.

I invited Juan to our campus so the team can meet him and ask any questions they had and he provided so much insight on how we should move forward with visual projects in general. Everyone really loved his energy and from there we decided to use Redd Pen Media.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

Every video consisted of an interview segment that was complimented with B-Roll that added to the interviewee's story explained during the interview. The pre-production process begins with a location scout of where we will be shooting along with a personal introduction where we learn more about the interviewee and their day in the life of their career.

From there we establish the script and shot list with Redd Pen Media to confirm the tone and feel of what we are looking for in the up coming video.

They have a very efficient workflow with lighting setups that doesn't take too long. The professional lighting makes a huge difference as compared to "run-and-gun" videos we have been a part of in the past before Redd Pen Media.

I personally admire how well they connect with our interviewees to ensure we get what need for the video. I usually conduct the interviews and have the lead from Redd Pen chime in if needed to make sure I didn't miss anything.

After the interview segment we film all of the b-roll shots and wrap when everything is captured. I really appreciate that they invite me to the editing office to sit down with them if I want to keep me in the loop of the project.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

Every time we work with Redd Pen media we start the process off with an in-person or phone meeting to go over all our goals for each video project.

We appreciate their attention to detail with the pre-production process they go through with us to ensure that we have a solid plan of attack for the production. They are always early on arrival on the filming day which is something I truly value and they always make our interviewees comfortable throughout the entire production.

The film equipment they use on our projects are high quality and they usually bring a 3-4 person crew that professionally handles the entire shoot from camera op to lighting which is perfect since locations can sometimes be small when we visit our Alumnus's workplace for the production.

During the post production process the Redd Pen Media team provides us with updates on how the project is coming along and usually send us a solid rough edit within a week.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Videos produced by Redd Pen media have been a great asset to our story-telling strategies. They have been viewed more than 10k times, and have been used both on our websites and email campaigns.

They helped educate prospective students in the experiences of our current students and alumni in a way that no admissions counselor could. They have been referenced by prospective students when they come to visit campus as reasons for them having decided on SJU over other institutions.

There is no doubt in my mind that they have added tremendous value to our recruitment process.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I truly appreciate how attentive Juan is with his role as Account Director/Project Manager. We are kept in the loop with everything from start to finish which is great. Brad is their creative leader and I love his creativeness and "no cutting corners" attitude while on set.

After production, the Redd Pen Media team accommodates all of our questions and needs with lighting fast communication.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The number one thing we love about Redd Pen Media is their turnaround time for delivering the end product. We usually have a final edit within a 1-2 week period which is very fast from what we normally experience with other companies.

They are extremely knowledgeable and possess a creative edge that brings a fresh sense of quality to our visuals. The entire team has a friendly personality on top of their professionalism which makes it so easy to work with them and lastly their attention to detail is something I also appreciate.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Every single project has been done within the established time frames of the call sheet which is always appreciated. I do understand that high quality productions take time to setup especially when there is no option to pre-light locations the day before but the lighting setups can sometimes drag a bit but it's all in good faith with ensuring that everything looks great.
