I’m the marketing manager for Harris Tweed Hebrides, a textile manufacturing company.

What challenge were you trying to address with RED UNIT?

We engaged them to help us review the Chinese market.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

For the first project, RED UNIT conducted a market research exercise that involved image analysis, market review, and a general review of consumers in the Chinese market. Our target market was manufacturers or distributors. Along with that, we checked the price competitiveness in the market because we weren’t the only brand that the manufacturers were selling to their customers. We already had a sales network there, and RED UNIT only reached out to them.

Right now, they’re now developing sales collaterals for our sales agents and it’s going to be on a digital platform and used for brand awareness. On top of that, they’re going to visit our manufacturing facility to take pictures and videos so that we can put something online for people to see, similar to a 360-degree virtual tour.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with four people from RED UNIT, including Cameron (Strategic Partner).

How did you come to work with RED UNIT?

RED UNIT was involved in a presentation by the Scottish government. Following that, they contacted us to see if we had any projects they could bid for.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent £25,000 (approximately $33,900 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in July 2021, and we continue to collaborate.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve received positive feedback from our Chinese contacts, and they’re very excited to see the next stages of the project. Overall, we’re satisfied with the research that they’ve done for us.

How did RED UNIT perform from a project management standpoint?

They have an excellent project management process, which is why they’re always on time. We communicate through email or Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

RED UNIT’s knowledge and experience in the Chinese market make them stand out. As a result, they’ve been able to give us insights on the next steps we can implement and provide better support to us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything they should improve.

Get in touch with them. RED UNIT is proactive, and so far, we've had a very positive experience with them.

To conduct a review od our current marketing in order to indentify opportunities un sectors where we require improvement and to consolidate our current market share.

How did you select RED UNIT and what were the deciding factors?

WE had worked with the Red Unit on previous projects and were impressd by their work.

We have used the Red Unit to reach out to an overseas market and are now engaged with them toincrease our market share. They have analysed our data to identify opportunities and conducted focus group work to establish our current strengths and weaknsses. Moving forward we have 3 clear strategies.

Firstly to retain current customers, scondly to attract a different market sector and finally to expand on our business to business offering.

We have worked with a number of their team but predominatly Cameron Couts & Thoranze Cheung.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The creative aspect from the Red Unit is always impressive and often tought provoking in its design.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

In terms of turnaround , Red Unit consistently match their promised time scales and keep you informed throughout the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Red Unit offer design ideas which are well thought out and different in their design. This fresh approach is always refreshing. What impresses most is their ability to understand your challenges and provide solutions.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We are happy with the RED UNIT's performance.
