I’m the director at Base Touch. We create marketing materials and entertainment programming using different types of animation and live-action media.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Firma?

We needed someone to create 3D models and animations.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Firma worked alongside our internal team on one of our marketing projects. It was for an innovative at-home beauty device that just launched. We started by giving them a brief in the form of a written document with some reference images and product details. It also detailed what we were looking for and contained some sample videos.

They first built 3D models and came back to us with various revisions. After we gave our approval, they started creating the animations of the device. They delivered some stills and a one-minute explainer video detailing the product’s different features. In addition, they produced various edits. 

What is the team composition?

I only worked with Anton (Founder). 

How did you come to work with Firma?

I posted a job listing on Upwork, and they got back to me with their portfolio. I was impressed by the dynamic and high-quality work they’d done.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent €800 (approximately $1,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from April–June 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The quality of Firma’s work was terrific. Not only did they create the animation, but they also produced different edits. I was only expecting a few additional stills, so it was very cool.

How did Firma perform from a project management standpoint?

It was an open dialogue between us — they would get our feedback before going in a particular direction, making sure that the process was collaborative. Furthermore, they always responded within two hours, which was impressive. The team was very personable and human, too, as opposed to seeming corporate. We were on the same wavelength, so it was an enjoyable experience.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality was excellent. It’s usually hit or miss whenever we work with animation studios, but Firma really impressed me because they could do everything. They understood the project from the get-go. I didn’t have to consider their strengths and weaknesses because they were great at everything. They also made sure to keep it within our budget. The price was incredibly reasonable — I set my expectations relatively low, but they went above and beyond. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really — they did everything I asked for.
