We’re a digital agency providing branding, motion graphics, video production, and digital marketing services.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with QodeHub?

As an up-and-coming agency in Ghana, we had very specific ideas to get across, in terms of website design and build. The challenge was finding an agency in Ghana that could pull off what we had in mind.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We wanted to do something a little out of the box in terms of design. The website itself needed to offer a unique experience, even before someone went to our portfolio. There are graphical elements that follow the user across the website, which opens up to our portfolio section. Given that we’re also an animation agency, QodeHub integrated a lot of motion graphics on the site. They also did a bit of on-site SEO for us.

What is the team composition?

We had one main contact on the project. There was another person working on the backend, and there was a UI designer involved.

How did you come to work with QodeHub?

The lead on this project is a friend of mine, and I’d worked with him on another website. He pitched QodeHub to us, and we started the conversation from there.

How much have you invested with them?

The partnership we have with them isn’t just monetary. They need services from us at times, which they don’t have in-house. It was more of a barter trade, so we didn’t spend what they’d normally charge.

We just paid for the actual web services and tools they needed, which came to a little under $500. Aside from that, we made some animation work they needed to showcase their own services.

What is the status of this engagement?

This ongoing project started in May 2020. We’re still in communication with the backend developer, in case of any issues. We’ve worked with them on client projects as well.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The UI/UX designs that QodeHub created for us is something that very few local agencies could pull off. The site doesn’t just show off our work and let people know who we are and what we’re about. Simply scrolling through it is an experience in itself. Our goal as an agency is to create a unique experience on every website we touch, and we nailed that element on our own site.

We haven’t launched the site yet, but the few people who’ve seen it are very pleased. We’ve gotten pretty good feedback. I don’t think there’s another agency website in Ghana that offers a comparable experience, and that gives us an edge over the competition.

How did QodeHub perform from a project management standpoint?

Most of the project was managed through Basecamp, including communication and project updates. It gave us insight into who was working on what, and when each task would be finished. We kept tabs on the work without needing to ask for updates all the time. That was a very efficient way to work.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team goes above and beyond for their clients. We’ve gone to QodeHub with client projects as well, for services we couldn’t provide in-house, and they make us look good. They take the time to figure out what the problem is and what the perfect solution for that client is.

They go through as many iterations as needed in order to get the job done properly, which is something that not many agencies here will do. I find that to be a valuable thing because it makes clients feel like they’re taking less of a risk. QodeHub’s collaboration and communication skills for working with clients are what make them stand out.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The people we’ve referred to them have had the same experience as us, so I don’t think there are any issues they could work on. From an agency perspective, one thing they could do better is marketing themselves.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

We try to understand what the client’s needs are before referring them to QodeHub. Their point person will try to break things down before getting into a commitment.
