QA Wolf came in to help us build out our E2E suite and maintain the tests so the team could focus on building business logic without the distraction of dealing with flaky tests and false flags. We started with a pilot, where QA Wolf were extremely helpful in identifying areas where tests could be applied, and were able to hit their advertised "80% test coverage in 4 months" target. 

We immediately saw the value in having the wolf pack as part of our SDLC and expanded our test suite and continue to grow it to this day.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The first metric of success was that the 80% in 4 months goal was hit on time. As part of the initial suite of tests we were able to automate the vast majority of what was a manual test suite, which allowed our internal team to dedicate that time back to supporting customers and providing value. The QA Wolf test suite has caught a good number of bugs before they hit production, and the team's confidence in releases has increased significantly since we brought them on board.

The team had during the pilot phase the team had a well oiled, battle tested scope of work and the stuck to the schedule religiously. The followed up where necessary and made sure that we were always kept abreast of where the team were at. Since we've passed out of the pilot phase the team have remained extremely proactive, ensuring that any new coverage requests are quickly actioned and any test failures are triaged as soon as possible.

The thing I've been most impressed by with QA Wolf is their attitude and proactivity. Any company can and should hit their promised targets, but the way QA Wolf goes above and beyond to do it in a positive way is amazing. Their team sit in a shared slack channel and their response times are always within a few minutes. 

They are always happy to help, and in places where they may not understand the platform, they are keen to learn and share their learnings among the team. There have been many companies I've worked with with good customer service, but QA Wolf are a rare case of being truly great.

Are there any areas for improvement or something QA Wolf could have done differently?

There's not much I would change about QA Wolf, they are a joy to work with. I would love to see them expand their capabilities to cover even more testing areas (eg. mobile testing).

Their responsiveness! They usually always respond to Slack messages within 5 minutes (usually 2 or 3), and they are very quick to identify and triage bugs, rerun tests, and are diligent in writing and verifying tests also. They were a great company to partner with; their product and processes were easy to use and incorporate.

I do wish the QA Wolf app had more functionality around managing and tracking bugs, but they are taking feedback and are working to improve the app.

Any time an issue came up, the QA Wolf team would reach out to our team immediately. Issues could easily be turned into tickets for the Engineering team to work on.

QA Wolf made it easy to create an audit of all existing tests, so that our team could look through the product (both old and new) and understand where to create additional test coverage. QA Wolf now catches the vast majority of regressions first.

One of QA Wolf's greatest strengths is its customer success. We were assigned our own point of contact, with whom we were able to meet on a recurring basis to discuss goals and progress, as well as ask any questions. QA Wolf held a lunch & learn for the Engineering team to walk through the QA Wolf platform and ensure that everyone understood the self-serve functionality. 

Additionally, any time our team asked a question in our shared Slack channel, someone from the QA Wolf team would almost always respond within seconds. Folks were always willing to work together to figure out the right way to implement tests to ensure goals were being met.

QA Wolf's responsiveness is excellent! We ran into a few regressions all at once and realized we need to audit and increase test coverage. Multiple folks on the QA Wolf team made themselves free to walk through these new product areas, so we could be sure to implement the tests most effectively.

We would love it if the QA Wolf team proactively looked for redundancies across tests, so that we could use our test quota more optimally across our product. Currently, our product uses the same frontend components throughout the product, and each "uses up" a test. We'd love to identify opportunities to save on tests and costs.

Impressed with the team's ability to ramp quickly to understand the complexities behind our platform and build tests around it. We've had a few instances where we've been able to revert due to the bugs caught by QA Wolf; we were able to respond before our clients were impacted!

Are there any areas for improvement or something QA Wolf could have done differently?

I think there's a good amount of effort that goes into the material needed for the team to build tests for us (this created additional work vs. enlisting someone internal to do this) - if there is a way to make that more efficient, I think it would be helpful. Currently, it feels like we could have a role solely dedicated to managing our QA Wolf suite. I think if that's our biggest limitation at the moment, we just don't have the bandwidth to get the most out of this service and application.
