What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What impressed us most about QA Accelerator was their ability to seamlessly integrate Agile Scrum methodologies into our processes and their dedication to clear role definition. Their expert QA managers and testers brought strategic guidance and rigorous testing protocols that were unique and highly effective. This combination improved our product quality and app stability, created logical workflows, and enhanced cross-collaboration within our team. Their innovative approach and commitment to excellence truly set them apart.

Are there any areas for improvement or something QA Accelerator could have done differently?

Nothing that I can think of now. QA Accelerator's performance was outstanding, one area for potential improvement could be offering more frequent progress updates in the first days of on-boarding.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the founder of a car rental company in one of the big islands of Spain. My job was to secure a good environment for our devs to create one of the best apps in the domain. We started with 7 devs and 1 product owner.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with QA Accelerator?
After 2 month a heavy development we launched our first beta. Quality was not our best suite, and we got to a point where we decided to bring QAs. Instead of having the devs develop more features, we constantly stopped to fix bugs. The beta testers (which were our friends) pointed out some bugs that were showstoppers.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We decided to involve professionals testers. We thought that if friends and family found ugly bugs, what would professional QAs find? And boy, we were right. After a short discussion with their CEO, whom was located in Spain, I knew they were our best fit. They have their team split around multiple locations in Europe, which made sense for different time zone clients’, their team was made only by experts, and the CEO had himself 15+ years in the testing field, That counted a lot for us, since we had a team of developers only.

What is the team composition?
I’m not familiar with their full composition, but we contracted the CEO as a main QA and another guy. 2 people in total, for a 3 months period.

How did you come to work with QA Accelerator?
Found their site on social media, I liked what I saw there and I contacted Dragos. He is the CEO. A great guy, who understood from our initial discussion what we need. After 2 days I received the SoW, very detailed I must add: the price, the timeframe, what testing they will perform, how we will keep in touch, and so on. Contacted 4 companies in total – neither provided me all this information.

How much have you invested with them?
Funny story – I told Dragos that I want them for 4 months, and he showed me that what we need he will provide in 3 months. The cost was reduced based on his predictability. They really finished what we agreed upon in his timeline.

What is the status of this engagement?
Currently none. I sold the business. I recommended Dragos and his team to the buyer but I don’t know their working status.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I'm unable to share our boards, but I can confirm that our team of developers began implementing new features within a month of partnering with QA Accelerator. They introduced a more efficient workflow that was quickly embraced by our developers without encountering any resistance.

How did QA Accelerator perform from a project management standpoint?
We didn’t had an actual project management and they noticed that right away. They taught us few things about deployment procedures and we decided with them how a monthly calendar will look for us, from the RnD point of view.

What did you find most impressive about them?
Availability. We agreed upon bi-weekly meetings, for statuses. Showstopper bugs or production deployments were discussed on spot. They didn’t bomb us with questions, wasted meetings or heavy bureaucracy. They sat with the dev TL and worked together upon the bug structure. What information is good for a bug report and which is extra – in order the efficiently use dev time. It sounded like a great idea.

Are there any areas they could improve?
They sometimes didn’t had a certain mobile device that was mandatory for testing. And a couple of times a test got postponed because they needed to find that specific device.
