Introduce your business and what you do there.

Our organization is focused in pharmaceuticals and is based in Pune, India. We are one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world in terms of our volume of manufactured vaccines.

I am the Corporate Relations Manager. I look after the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director, and the Managing Director in terms of their personal and official needs.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Purplechai Technologies?

Our Executive Director wanted an app that would keep an inventory of all of the items in their three residences in India, including the particular place they are kept at any particular time. I approached Purplechai to create the app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The app that we made is called What’s Where. It was designed for iOS devices, but then I had Purplechai Technologies make it for Android as well. Initially, I did not want to use an external service, but Purplechai told me it would be better than doing the development internally. They told us to buy space on the cloud, and they made a website for that as well. After a lot of changing, cropping, and finalizing it, the app is now active. It’s doing wonderfully. In case I want to check how many chairs of a particular type are available, all I have to do is look at the app and it tells me in three different locations the quantity of these chairs available. Just by looking at the app, I can picture everything that is there in their houses.

How did you come to work with Purplechai Technologies?

We have a website in India called Justdial. When I searched mobile apps on the site, Purplechai’s number appeared third or fourth on the list. I actually called up the top three, but they were not located close enough to our office. Purplechai Technologies was located pretty close, and then I read their reviews on the website, which were pretty good even though they’re a small company. I approached them, and that’s how we started working.

How much have you invested with Purplechai Technologies?

It was 160,000 rupees [approx. US$2,400].

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with Purplechai Technologies this year, and they made the app in three to four months.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The app is not used publicly. It is for private use only, so it’s not like it’s on the market. It’s just used for my employers who want to see where their stuff is because they keep traveling around. If they want to buy something, they want to know if this particular item is already there with them, and if it is there, how many there are and at what location.

How did Purplechai Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Purplechai Technologies was very good at project management. Their timelines were spot on. They said it would take a week to come up with the first sample of the look of the app, and that’s exactly how long it took. Purplechai would always call me up and tell me when a feature of the app was ready to be checked.

What did you find most impressive about Purplechai Technologies?

The service was pretty good. They were totally interactive. Purplechai has an eye for detail, which is very good. Anything that I missed, they had already incorporated into the app, which I felt was really good in terms of service. Now that the app is out there, they keep proactively giving me a call and asking if there are any more additions or services required to include in the app. I’m a very satisfied client.

Are there any areas Purplechai Technologies could improve?

Not really. They were proactive. It really went absolutely smoothly.
