Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the acting CTO of a digital health company that specializes in COVID-19 testing. We have an FDA-cleared COVID-19 test, and our company has an app that lets users do the test by themselves. We also offer a platform that helps organizations manage their COVID-19 population. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with ProfitOptics, Inc.?

We hired ProfitOptics to build the AI of our software. We also needed a stable, cloud-based database for our images and results storage process.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We contracted ProfitOptics to code the AI of our software. They also helped document the whole process. Then, the team worked hand-in-hand with us during the clinical trials process, which was needed for us to get FDA approval. They were also involved in the development of our original mobile app. 

At present, we’re still working together although not as much as before. Right now, they’re handling our load testing process, and the team also provides support services.

I work with their CTO, COO, and several other development team members. 

How did you come to work with ProfitOptics, Inc.?

I’d known ProfitOptics for years due to our past engagements. For this project, I reached out to them because I already know the quality of their work.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested over $250,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working on this project in February 2021, and the engagement is ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since this is an AI-based project, we measure success by our ability to create a program that no one else has done before. Our ability to acquire an FDA clearance has also been a success metric.  

Meanwhile, the ProfitOptics team has been amenable to change. They’re not adamant about sticking to what they know, and that’s exactly what we need in the project.

How did ProfitOptics, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

ProfitOptics has been the best team I’ve ever worked with; they’re clear on expectations and deliverables, and the team is highly pragmatic. They don’t promise what can’t be delivered; yet, they don’t sandbag or undercut us. 

For project management tools, our team uses Asana, and their team uses Jira. For this specific project, we’ve asked them to use Asana. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

ProfitOptics has done things with our software that nobody else has been able to do. Specifically, no one has been able to create our AI before the ProfitOptics team came along. Simply put, their team is highly intelligent, and their developers are talented. On top of that, their speed is also impressive; they can code incredibly quickly — faster than other companies that have worked with us. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. They’re the best of the best. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust ProfitOptics. If they have a strong opinion about technologies and tools, trust them.
