PEW is a software development studio founded in Genova, Italy in 2023, built on a simple idea: high-quality custom software shouldn't be reserved for companies with enterprise-sized budgets.
We design and build full-stack digital solutions — custom web development, application development, product development, and AI integration — for businesses that need real engineering, not just a template. Since our founding, we've delivered 200+ projects for 100+ clients across industries including energy, fintech, and retail.
Our work spans modernizing legacy infrastructure, building scalable onboarding platforms for fast-growing fintechs, and connecting multi-partner retail networks to real-time systems. In one engagement, we modernized the legacy IT infrastructure for a solar energy provider operating 45,000+ panels, reducing downtime and doubling daily operational performance. For a fintech platform now managing $3M+ in assets, we built the client onboarding system and automated account provisioning so growth no longer meant administrative overhead. For a national electronics retailer with 10,000+ retail partners, we connected their warehouse to a real-time inventory platform, cutting order processing time by 60% and stock discrepancies by 25%.
Our process runs in three phases: Discovery & Analysis, Development, and Implementation & Handoff. Every project starts with a structured assessment of existing systems, stakeholders, and requirements before development begins, and clients work with a single dedicated point of contact throughout — no fragmented communication, no scope drift, no surprises at delivery.
For clients running mission-critical infrastructure or sensitive data, security and uptime are built into the project scope from day one, not treated as an afterthought. We regularly integrate with existing infrastructure rather than requiring a rip-and-replace approach.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What specific goals or objectives did you hire PEW Digital to accomplish?
Before working with PEW Digital, our restocking process was a mess of phone calls and spreadsheets between us and our retail partners. We needed a solution to improve this process.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
PEW Digital designed and developed a custom B2B inventory management platform tailored to our operations, replacing our manual ordering process with a centralized digital system. The main deliverables included a retailer portal with real-time inventory visibility, an automated ordering and replenishment workflow, a centralized admin dashboard for managing inventory and retailer activity, and a backend that integrated orders, invoicing, and stock management.PEW Digital built the platform using a modern, scalable technology stack with real-time synchronization, responsive design for desktop and mobile use, and cloud infrastructure to support future growth. The team implemented real-time inventory synchronization so retailers always had access to up-to-date stock levels, along with automated order processing that connected orders directly to our invoicing workflow, eliminating a lot of manual data entry.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
PEW Digital delivered a complete solution that streamlined our inventory management, improved the ordering experience for our retail partners, and gave our team much better visibility and control over daily operations. The results were noticeable within a short time after launch. The biggest improvement was operational efficiency — our retailer order processing time decreased by around 60%, allowing our team to handle orders much faster and with far less manual work.We also saw about a 25% reduction in stock discrepancies, thanks to the platform's real-time inventory synchronization and automated workflows. Retail partners gained immediate visibility into available inventory, which reduced ordering mistakes and eliminated much of the back-and-forth communication that had previously been required.Beyond the metrics, the platform made it much easier to onboard new retailers and scale our operations without adding the same level of administrative overhead. Our team could spend less time on manual reconciliation and more time supporting customers and growing the business, which was exactly the outcome we were hoping for.
How did PEW Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
PEW Digital's project management was excellent throughout the engagement. They established a clear project roadmap from the beginning, kept us informed with regular progress updates, and were proactive about discussing milestones, timelines, and any decisions that required our input. The project stayed on schedule, and whenever questions or minor scope adjustments came up, they communicated them early so there were no surprises.PEW Digital's team was responsive, organized, and easy to work with, which made the implementation process much smoother than we expected. What stood out most was their collaborative approach. They took the time to understand our operational workflows, incorporated feedback quickly, and ensured each phase was completed before moving on to the next. That level of communication and accountability gave us confidence throughout the project and played a big role in its successful delivery.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What impressed us most was that PEW Digital took the time to understand our business before proposing a solution. Rather than delivering a generic inventory management system, they invested time in learning our operational workflows, the challenges our retail partners faced, and where the biggest inefficiencies existed. That resulted in a platform that felt purpose-built for our business rather than an off-the-shelf product. We were also impressed by their ability to combine technical expertise with practical business thinking. Features like real-time inventory synchronization, automated order processing, and the centralized dashboard weren't just technically well executed — they solved real operational problems and had an immediate impact on our day-to-day work. Finally, their communication and responsiveness stood out throughout the project. They were transparent about progress, receptive to feedback, and quick to make adjustments when needed. It felt like they were genuinely invested in the success of the project, not just delivering software. That collaborative approach made them feel like an extension of our own team rather than an external vendor.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Overall, we were very satisfied with the engagement, so there weren't any major areas where we felt PEW Digital fell short. If we had to suggest one improvement, it would be to provide even more user training and documentation at the end of the project. The platform was intuitive, but additional onboarding materials or training sessions for new staff would have helped us accelerate adoption across the organization.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
PEW Digital was receptive to feedback throughout the development process and worked collaboratively to ensure the final product met our needs. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and any improvements would be relatively minor compared to the value they delivered.

PEW Digital overhauled a wholesale company's IT infrastructure. The team upgraded operational computers, closed off publicly exposed remote desktop access, updated system software, and restructured servers.
The client now enjoys faster system speeds and more consistent monitoring and management of solar field operations. PEW Digital's project management was a key factor in making this work well for the client. The team planned and sequenced every stage carefully.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Yuraku S.r.l., an Italian wholesale company that supplies renewable energy, electronics, and related technical products and services.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with PEW Digital?
Before hiring PEW Digital, we were running critical operations on IT infrastructure that had fallen dangerously out of date. Several of our operational computers were still on Windows XP, so they hadn’t received security updates in years and couldn’t run modern software. Our servers weren’t much better — remote desktop access was exposed to the public internet, drivers and system software were outdated, and all of this left us vulnerable to both unplanned downtime and unauthorized access.Since our systems support the monitoring and management of over 45,000 solar installations across southern Italy, any outage or breach could have real consequences for our operations. We needed a full infrastructure overhaul but couldn’t afford major disruption to get there.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
PEW Digital came on-site to handle a complete overhaul of our IT infrastructure from top to bottom. The main pieces of work included:
Workstation upgrades: Migrating our operational computers off Windows XP onto current, fully supported Windows environments so machines were secure and compatible with modern software again.
Server hardening: Closing off publicly exposed remote desktop access and locking down our server infrastructure against unauthorized access.
System updates: Bringing drivers, system software, and supporting applications up to date across all critical machines.
Server reconfiguration: Restructuring our servers to improve stability, performance, and long-term maintainability.
Careful, phased deployment: Sequencing every stage of the rollout so our monitoring and management systems stayed up and running throughout since we couldn’t afford disruption to day-to-day solar field operations.
By the end of the engagement, we had a fully modernized, secure infrastructure — not just patched systems but a stable foundation built to support us as we keep growing.
What is the team composition?
We worked with 2–5 teammates from PEW Digital.
How did you come to work with PEW Digital?
We found them through a referral. We chose them over other options because they had high ratings, their pricing fit our budget, and they were referred to me.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent less than $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together in May 2025.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The results were pretty clear-cut for us. Day-to-day tasks on our systems now run roughly twice as fast as before, which made a real difference in how our team operates day to day. Downtime dropped sharply too — we’re no longer dealing with the interruptions that outdated hardware and software used to cause, so monitoring and managing our solar field operations has been far more consistent. Since the upgrade, we’ve seen roughly a 60% reduction in system downtime compared to before the project. Combined with tasks running about twice as fast, it’s made a tangible difference in how reliably our team can monitor and manage operations across our solar sites day to day.On the security side, replacing the unsupported Windows XP machines, applying current updates, and closing off the exposed remote access points made our infrastructure much more resilient against modern threats — a meaningful improvement given that we’re managing systems tied to over 45,000 solar installations. And beyond the immediate fixes, we ended up with an infrastructure that’s genuinely easier to maintain going forward, rather than one we’re constantly working around.
How did PEW Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
PEW Digital’s project management was a big part of what made this work well for us. This wasn’t a simple software update; it was a full infrastructure overhaul happening on machines and servers we depend on every day. They planned and sequenced every stage carefully so our monitoring and management systems stayed available the whole time. Nothing about the process felt rushed or improvised — each phase was clearly thought through before they moved to the next. They delivered on time, and just as importantly, they did it without disrupting our day-to-day operations, which was really the whole challenge given how critical these systems are to running our solar field sites.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What stood out most to us was how hands-on they were. This wasn’t a remote diagnosis and a list of recommendations — one of their team members flew on-site within three days to actually work on the ground with our systems. For infrastructure tied to solar field operations that we can’t afford to have go down, having someone physically present made a real difference. It meant problems could be assessed and fixed directly, decisions could be made quickly without back-and-forth over email, and we had confidence that the people doing the work understood our actual environment rather than working off a description of it. That kind of responsiveness and willingness to show up in person is what set the engagement apart for us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Honestly, no. We were satisfied with how the project went from start to finish. The scope was clear, the work was executed carefully given how critical our systems are, and they delivered on time without disrupting our operations. If anything comes up down the line, we’d feel comfortable bringing it to them, but looking back at this engagement specifically, there isn’t anything we’d point to that we wish had gone differently.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
PEW Digital didn’t just hand things off and disappear. Once the infrastructure work was complete, they made sure we understood what had changed and stayed available afterward if we ran into any issues or had questions about the new setup. That ongoing support gave us confidence that the systems would keep running smoothly even after the on-site work wrapped up — it wasn’t just a one-time fix; it felt like a continued relationship.
