We used to work together on different types of projects. First was support and maintainance of our web-solution based on Magento 1.x. Next was the platform migration to Magento 2.x. Now we are working on complex upgrade of our E-commerce solution that combines web and mobile applications, implements different integrations with ERP, PIM, MAS, etc.

I guess the better measurable outcome is that we collaborate together for such a long time and at the moment complexity of the project scope is continously growing

There are always some things to be improved and it depends on project needs. Timelines seems to be the most challenging ones.

These guys work only with Magento, so for us it means that their expertise is narrow but very high at the same time. They also have all needed certifications and pretty nice reviews so this is why we’ve chosen them.

Usually we require new features, some kind of customizations or modules installation/customization.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We and our partners are quite happy with results we are usually getting from Perspective. Guys know Magento best practices, so they are thinking a few steps forward and never stop giving some recommendations on how to perform with the most cost-efficient way.

The coolest part is that PMs are also certified with Magento certificates. We can discuss technical and architectural aspects with them. All communication runs through Slack and Jira.

We cooperate with Perspective for many years, and we feel a win-win outcome from this cooperation. They have very fair pricing for such high expertise.

Of course we have some issues time after time but usually Perspective team reacts very fast.

We engaged Perspective to develop our Magento 2.3 website.

Our project with Perspective was just general web development. As issues came up, we thought of things we wanted to improve in the platform and the team implemented them. We collaborated with their project manager to identify all the tasks for the engagement.

I found Perspective on Upwork. We shortlisted them together with three other companies. After our phone conversations with other teams, we decided that was the best fit for our project.

We spent $35,000 AUD (approximately $25,000 USD) over the course of 12 months.

What is the status of this engagement?

We collaborated from February 2021–February 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Perspective did everything we asked them to do. Even though our issues weren’t that complex, we were happy that they were able to solve everything. We were also satisfied with their overall technical competency for Magento.

How did Perspective perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a project manager within Trello who was in charge of resolving issues as they came up. They were transparent on the timeline of the tasks that we gave them, and they had solid communication skills, too.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed by Perspective’s organized approach. We also appreciated that they checked their work properly, minimizing the back and forth between our teams. In addition, they researched issues they weren't familiar with in order to solve our problems.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I was satisfied with their services. I’d still be working with them if it weren’t for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their rates and process are good, so work with Perspective.

Long story short we needed a reliable, stable and modern online store for our brand Tefal. Among other requirements, the most tricky was using PWA. The technology is quite new and here was the main risks from my point of view

We were searching for Magento professionals. Firstly, Perspective Studio was shortlisted as a Magento-only company alongside with other Magento market leaders? After a few interviews with all companies we’ve decided to go with Perspective. They bought us with their expertise and a deep knowledge of the Magento environment. Additional factor was a big in-house team of certified developers

We used Magento as a CMS combining it with PWA on the Front-end. The project is quite big so I just say that it is fully equipped with all the payment, marketing and client service tools. We also have lots of integrations.

Our main contact was the project manager. In our team we had around 12 people (developers, QA, PM, DevOps).

In result we’ve got exactly what we requested. Unfortunately we have nothing to compare it to, but all the project goals were achieved. Timeline of the project was respected.

Very high expertise. This team knows how to deal with Magento. The project manager is not just an implementer of our requirements but an advisor on how to make them better.

In general, we are more than happy cooperating with Perspective. I hope they will not change their approach in future.

One of our key accounts had a crucial issue related to the speed of the website built on Magento 2. Basically, the visitors couldn’t browse it at all as well as they weren't able to make any purchases because one page could take up to 5 minutes to be loaded.

We involved a few Magento companies at the stage of research/analysis and only Perspective Studio came up with a clear vision on what exactly needs to be done providing us with the accurate project’s roadmap.

Perspective Studio moved to the new web server according to the roadmap. Activities performed by them: Set up a new server (OS installing, LEMP-stack configuration in accordance with Magento recommendations, additional software installing). Install and configure cash warming software. Prepare a project environment, domain names, and CDN, etc. Successfully launch a website on a new server.

We’ve communicated with BDM, CTO and PM. Our main contact during the project was the PM, however, the CTO was always in touch and took a very active part in the project especially when decisions had to be made.

The site became stable and fast. In the beginning, it took 30 seconds to load the page and after the job was done it became 2-4 sec.

Hybrid Project Management style. We've used Slack, Trello, Jira & Zoom.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Perspective Studio has a narrow but very high-level Magento expertise. They were also very quick in all senses - we started working right away. Their communication is prompt, and solution delivery is very quick. Very impressive and recommended.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes we had very quick and short questions but the PM was preparing a very detailed and comprehensive answer spending too much time. However, it did not affect the project timeline at all.

Communication has always been excellent with the Perspective Team. They are friendly, professional, and completely fluent in English. They used Slack for messaging, we used Jira for task management. There were no issues.

The team has a real willingness to work. When we had a sudden emergency, Yaroslav rallied the entire team to help us, even though they were on a corporate retreat. They are absolutely 100% reliable.

Everything went quite well.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We launched the first MVP on planned time in autumn 2018, it was important. During Black Friday 2019, we have received 2000 orders per day. On high hours orders were placed every 2 sec. As a fact, we saw how the project successfully works under high load traffic.

They work by Scrum (use sprints, backlog, retrospectives etc.). We have access for their Jira (including Jira Service Desk) and Confluence, where we keep project documentation.

Also, they use a lot of tools for testing (BrowserStack) and monitoring (like a slack bot). We communicate in slack and telegram. Business correspondence ofc we send through email.

They live by our project. They always recommend something better. They stay in touch during the night and weekend.

I am not sure about the real needs to improve but if need say something, i can suggest improving business analytics skills.

With regards to support on our Magento 1 website, we have been more than happy with solutions that have been applied. The website design and development has gone very well so far, and the launch is looking promising.

Projects are managed in a consultative style, with communication mostly through the Slack PM software. Ideas are suggested and discussed, and the most appropriate and suitable being agreed upon before delivery.

Perspective Team took on the project after the previous team, which did not live up to our expectations. We needed general website support, to be aware of all the solutions on the market. They were able to fix all types of issues we encountered, from faulty architecture to various frontend and server issues. 

They helped us improve import stability and site performance. Many new features have been implemented to improve UX and increase profits. A project for creating a network of adjacent sites was developed and implemented.

All most challenging parts of the project were dealt perfectly. This is why we still use their services and are not planning to stop cooperation.
