We hired Peiko to help develop three websites for our company to diversify our avenues for income.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Peiko is taking on three projects for our company. They’re creating the following web apps to give our media training clients avenues to practice their skills or find potential employment:

• A web app that puts media-trained clients on an online contact book so that employers can find them. It addresses our clients’ problem of not having a good stream of media opportunities. 
• An extension of our platform where we facilitate virtual annual shareholder meetings. This web app enables companies to register their shareholders by filling out an identity verification form. 
• A third web app that can help small to medium-sized enterprises collect their payments faster. We wanted to offer this solution for small entities since they tend to be paid last by big companies. 

Apart from those web apps, Peiko is also rebuilding our poorly developed website from the ground up. We need to achieve three types of outreach on this site, so they designed it to allow several types of users:

• the contract manager, who will be dealing with corporate communications people that want to get their experts on camera or for interviews
• Journalists, who want to come in and ask questions
• subject media experts

We’ve only interacted with the project manager and business development manager, but I’m sure there have been a couple of developers working behind the scenes. 

How did you come to work with Peiko?

We found them on Upwork where we were looking for vendors. They, along with other applicants, reached out to us, but we ultimately chose them after the interviews.

How much have you invested with them?

We have spent over $100,000 on the project so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We hired them in May 2020. The projects are pretty much done, but we are still engaged with them for our ongoing maintenance needs.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve created very good designs and conducted impressive QA testing, but we’re encountering some problems since the quality has declined a bit. Their services are still pretty decent, and we find it admirable that they are still working with us in the middle of Russia’s invasion. 

How did Peiko perform from a project management standpoint?

Peiko’s communication is pretty good. They provide necessary follow-ups and chase us for clarification when they need it. We use WhatsApp, Zoom, and PowerPoint.

We’re currently negotiating on the price since some features have not been implemented. Understandably, it’s become hard to find a good developer in the current state of their country.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We are happy with Peiko’s services. Whenever we need a mockup, they’re able to get their designers to do it immediately. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Some features were not implemented, and the quality of their work has gone down, though we understand that they are trying their best to correct that despite the ongoing invasion of Ukraine. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very specific and detailed when it comes to what you want. Also, be clear about the billing and whatever goes into that process.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Peiko designed and developed our company website. We provided them with an overview of our goals for the site and the wireframes we’d developed in-house. From there, Peiko’s team created a proposal for the first MVP and designed the UX/UI. Once we finalized the design, Peiko began back- and frontend development — the backend was built in PHP and Laravel, and the frontend was in Vue.js.

We worked with Peiko’s co-founder, a UX/UI designer, a project manager, a QA teammate, and 3–5 engineers and their team lead.

We found Peiko on Upwork, although we initially cross-listed our job posting on several platforms.

What is the status of this engagement?

This project with Peiko was from August 2020–June 2021, but occasionally they supply an engineer to augment our in-house team.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We measured Peiko’s success through development sprints because my co-founder and I used to work in tech and have a solid understanding of successful development practices. That’s why we started with a smaller scope of work, but once we saw how great Peiko’s work was, we extended it. Overall, Peiko was a great choice for a development partner — they delivered exactly what we wanted. 

How did Peiko perform from a project management standpoint?

Peiko’s engineering team worked in weekly sprints overseen by their project manager — they delivered the final site within budget and timeline. They used Jira internally, and we managed the project through Google Sheets and Trello. We communicated with different members of Peiko in different ways — we used Skype with the engineering team and had biweekly meetings with the project manager. The Peiko team was available at all times, making communication very easy. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Peiko communicated well and was flexible in their development capabilities — they didn’t have strict processes like larger agencies we’d worked with before. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have anything for Peiko to improve — they set us up for success.

I’d advise customers to set up clear communication channels with Peiko to ensure a steady work rhythm.

I’m the CEO of My Finance, a finance startup from Germany. We’re developing a financial overview application.

What challenge were you trying to address with Peiko?

Our project was a bit complex, and we started it out with another development company. However, we quickly reached some roadblocks working with them. They couldn’t provide the services and the quality we expected, so we needed to find another vendor.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Peiko helped us design and develop the MVP version of a web app; it was basically an all-around package. It was a PHP site with some APIs for connecting banks and accounts and getting the relevant data that we needed for our users’ analyses.

They collaborated with us and did all of the design work for us in-house. Their designers did all the mock-ups and UI/UX designs on Figma.

What is the team composition?

We originally started working with one of Peiko’s leaders, but we mostly worked with a person in charge of customer relationships towards the end of the project.

How did you come to work with Peiko?

We found them on Upwork, and we started working together through that platform. However, we quickly set up a contract with them directly because it was more economical.

We invested about $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together somewhere in the middle of 2019, and our collaboration ended in August 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Peiko delivered what we asked for — that was how we measured the project’s success.

How did Peiko perform from a project management standpoint?

Peiko’s project management was a little lackluster initially, but they improved drastically in this regard throughout our engagement. They told us that the issue was due to the lack of people in their team.

We noticed the drastic improvement when we could write them a message at any time of the day and get a response, even in the middle of the night. Their responsiveness was impressive. We used GitHub and Google Sheets for going over bugs and tracking tasks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There wasn’t anything that Peiko couldn’t do. Our project was a bit financially and mathematically complex, and it required a lot of calculations. However, they still managed to pull it off. We expected a lot more problems than there were. Overall, they were very competent in web app development.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would have been good if they had more available time slots. Startups like ours are very reliant on investor payments and deadlines; once we receive funds, we can start planning new milestones.

However, Peiko tended to be fully booked most of the time, so when we had the fund available again to work with them, they were usually already stuck in a lot of other projects, and we had to wait again for one or two months until they had time for us. It’s not something negative about them, but it was hard for us to get quick access to their services.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very precise with your instructions. It is best to give them an entire description of how you want your website to look and what you want it to do. Work closely with the designers, do several rounds of feedback with them, and constantly check on them so you can see what’s going on. Basically, just keep in touch regularly.

I'm the CEO of a cryptocurrency exchange company. At the moment, I'm the only member of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Peiko?

I'm working with them to build a cryptocurrency exchange platform. The final product will be a website that allows users to both exchange traditional currency for cryptocurrency and exchange cryptocurrency for other cryptocurrencies.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

To start the engagement, we worked together to document all project requirements. We completed this documentation over the course of about 15 sessions, after which I received a full timeline for the project from them. Once we agreed on timeline, budget, and documentation standards, they allocated full-time developers to the project and began building the platform. It's a completely custom solution. For the design portion of the engagement, they used Figma to build pages that I then reviewed and approved. After they finished the site, they moved it from their servers to mine. Now, they're helping to fix some minor bugs before I launch the platform.

What is the team composition?

I've worked with a total of seven members of their team. These have been members of their development, billing, and server administration teams.

How did you come to work with Peiko?

I found their portfolio on a Russian-based freelancer database. The portfolio included some cryptocurrency sites, which caught my attention because there aren't many firms familiar with the cryptocurrency market. They responded to me quickly after I reached out, so I decided to move forward with them after discussing project details.

How much have you invested with them?

I've spent $32,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've worked together since March 2021. We had planned for the engagement to run for six months, but I think we'll finish by August. At this point, they're only handling minor fixes free of charge. Once we fully finish, I'll be handling site maintenance myself and working with another company for server administration.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Unlike other companies I've worked with before, their team works quite quickly to meet project milestones. I haven't had any issues connecting with them regardless of the time of day. Once, I even was able to get them to implement a fix at 1 AM.

How did Peiko perform from a project management standpoint?

They've done very well. They're always prepared for our weekly meetings, coming with detailed reports on their progress that answered any questions I came into the meetings with. As a whole, their documentation is quite precise and detailed. They've always provided me with options, making them very easy to work with. We've used Google Drive for documentation purposes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The speed at which they implement fixes and respond to questions makes them stand out. With other companies, I've had to wait up to a week for a response. I would definitely recommend them for a crypto-focused project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can't think of anything. At first, I thought their price was a bit high, but I've come to learn that their cost is quite reasonable.

Any advice for potential customers?

Use them for any cryptocurrency projects. They have years of experience and understand the specificities of the crypto marketplace. When I started this project, I didn't know as much as them.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

At the moment the project is in the final stage of testing, we are preparing for its launch, and we have prepared a roadmap for project development together with Peiko

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The Peiko team knows their job well. They helped us to work out the whole concept of the project in detail and then took care of all the project development. Our manager was Bogdan. He regularly gave us feedback on the work done and kept us informed about what the team was working on. We are satisfied with the management of the project. As I told earlier We already pass the alpha-test and the control group was satisfied Also, I asked about code review from another team and they told me that the code is clean and well-oiled.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The Peiko team has great experience in the development of projects similar to ours. They developed our idea, thought it through in a qualitative way, and developed it. As our partners told us, their team proved that they're the best in their field.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Perhaps they should open a representative office in other cities so that you can come to their office not only in Kyiv.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Peiko built a custom software using PHP Yii. They were responsible for design and front and backend development. The software allows local poker players to make transfers and acknowledge their gains and results. It also automates some tasks for them.

A lot of people work in the background, but we have contact with only two of them.

I’m a COO at Qream Design Agency.

What challenge were you trying to address with Peiko?

We needed development on UI/UX design for a mobile application. We knew other people were working on this type of app, so there was high competition. We were limited on time because of that, and we wanted someone to develop it as soon as possible.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Peiko helped us develop a fintech application that allows users to track their expenses, check their budgets, and set and achieve financial goals. We provided them with a clickable high-fidelity UI/UX prototype, and they coded it employing the React Native environment. They connected it to CRM because we wanted to track user activity and get infographics about the app. 

The app was built for iOS and Android and is currently available in the App Store and Google Play Store. We got the app ready last month, we Alpha-tested it, and did a focus group of users — everything went well. Currently, we collaborate on the maintenance contract, and they help us polish some minor aspects of the app.

I’ve worked directly with Peiko’s project manager — he’s my main point of contact.

We found Peiko on Upwork, and we consulted with our city’s IT community about them. We also got a recommendation from a friend that worked with them before.

They offered us a development package for iOS and Android apps. We’ve invested around $77,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Peiko in January 2021, and it’s an ongoing project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our success metrics are based on the feedback from our focus groups, whether they liked the features, and how well the application was built. We also got a third-party company to review and justify Peiko’s coding work. That verification went very well and made us feel sure of the quality of their services. In addition to that, the React Native technology that they employed was very efficient on this app.

How did Peiko perform from a project management standpoint?

The engagement with the project manager has gone quite well — he’s really professional, performs well, and makes sure that Peiko’s team performs as well. We use Jira and Slack to communicate, and he gives us regular updates on the status of development, timing material, and budget. We have weekly calls and email follow-ups to stay updated. We’re pretty satisfied with his performance. We also used GitHub and Figma software. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The speed and quality of Peiko’s code are impressive. They know the market really well and advised us on a couple of solutions for syntax. Also, they’ve advised us about potential investments. We originally planned to finish the project by the end of summer, but most likely we will be done much sooner. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could add someone that works on app promotion because it’s quite different from website promotion — that might help them boost their client’s success.

I don’t have any advice. They keep everything really professional and can find the key to work with any client — they have a good customer-oriented approach.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We haven’t launched yet, but they pulled our ideas into a very intuitive, simpler design than we had envisioned. We had been concerned that the design would have to be very complex to match the complexity of a financial product but were pleasantly surprised at the simplicity they produced. They added value beyond our expectations, and we like the output they produce.

How did Peiko perform from a project management standpoint?

They meet deadlines and communicate very well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The UX/UI design is stylistically perfect, showcasing their experience. The team follows an impressive design philosophy that simplifies complex things to make them visually beautiful.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re slightly less flexible regarding receiving feedback than we would like. They tend to wrap up a sprint and want immediate feedback, whereas we sometimes take a week while we sort things out before giving it.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

There may be a bit more paperwork and admin involved, as well as individually designed roles among their resources than you’re accustomed to.

However, this doesn’t hinder their efficiency. Don’t get too specific; allow them space to add their own vision and trust them to produce a good output.

We needed developers to fix some architectural and technical issues.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They fixed our issues and connected the model to all the other parts of our platform. Their team also fixed the architectural and technical issues made by previous developers, implementing more advanced technologies so that we would be in a better place moving forward. There are a lot of different formulas and calculations, as well as economics involved.

We are still in the development stage. They have solved a lot of issues with mathematical equations and crypto technology. It’s working great for us, and their team is very dependable.

How did Peiko perform from a project management standpoint?

Bogdan is smart, polite, and technologically advanced, making discussions of tasks easy. We prepare the tasks, which are delegated to the chief developers. Once they notify us of task completion, we check from our side and make any necessary corrections. They fix issues quickly, and always deliver on time. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are technologically advanced and very knowledgeable about crypto technology. Their developers are good and were able to implement all of our requested changes with no problem. They are better than other vendors we’ve experienced, so it's been a pleasant collaboration all around.

Are there any areas they could improve?

For some tasks we have questions about estimations. Sometimes it was not clear. As a result, the Peiko's manager explained everything after our request.

There is a good combination of price, experience, and collaboration with them.
