Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner of Backwater Cat Adventure. We provide boat rentals and guided boat tours in three locations: Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Amelia and Marco Islands in Florida. I also own Backwater Cat Boats, which builds the boats that we use.

We initially hired Palmetto Palm Marketing to help us with website development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Palmetto designed and developed our website based on specific details that I provided. They added a booking widget and explanations of the tours. They also provided a feature for us to interact with people who land on our website.

They have since delved into social media and marketing. For our marketing strategy, we concentrate mostly on trying to get people to our website through Google and Facebook, but they also help us grow our Instagram and Twitter.

What is the team composition?

Our main point of contact is Chad (CEO). I’m sure that he has a team working in the background, but we don’t speak to them.

How did you come to work with Palmetto Palm Marketing?

I researched marketing companies on the internet, and Palmetto was local and more affordable than some other companies. The fact that we could meet Chad and look him in the eye was a big plus.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $16,000 per year.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2018, and it’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When our customers book with us, they are asked how they found us. A number of them get driven to the website through our Google and Facebook marketing campaigns, and also Tripadvisor. Our Instagram and Twitter following has grown, too. All of these aspects speak highly of the returns we get from Palmetto’s great work.

How did Palmetto Palm Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

We mostly communicate through email and voice calls meetings. Additionally, we meet face-to-face once a year.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're getting great results. Working with Palmetto has been very easy. They’re very responsive to most of our requests. Everything they can control, they do in a timely and professional manner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could charge me less, but I would probably get less.

Any advice for potential customers?

I recommend future clients to meet with Palmetto personally and get a feel of what the team can do for their business.
