Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner of Creative Juice. We’re a branding, marketing, and web design agency.

What challenge were you trying to address with Palisades Hudson?

I hired them to handle all of my annual tax returns and overall tax planning. Also, we were formerly doing our bookkeeping in-house and wanted to outsource instead.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Palisades Hudson does my tax planning and files my tax returns every year. They make sure I’m doing whatever I need in order to receive relevant tax credits. Their team also handles my monthly bookkeeping. If we receive any IRS or Georgia Department of Labor notices, they resolve those issues and ensure everything is good to go.

What is the team composition?

I only have one point of contact. He specifically does our taxes, and I only communicate with him. I know he hands off work to different members of his company, like our bookkeeping.

How did you come to work with Palisades Hudson?

I met my point of contact at a networking event. My company knew we needed to use professional services for our accounting efforts.

How much have you invested with them?

I spend around $15,000 a year on everything.

Our ongoing partnership began in August 2016.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Palisades Hudson has a very hands-on approach to customer service and they went above and beyond my expectations. My point of contact provides a lot of consulting that he doesn’t charge us for. Basically, he handles anything that an in-house CFO would.

Whenever I receive an IRS or state notice, I can email or call him and he’ll take care of it. What’s more, he thoroughly explains tax information to me. A lot of it goes over my head because I’m not a finance person. However, if I ever want to know anything, he goes above and beyond to explain it.

How did Palisades Hudson perform from a project management standpoint?

Despite being a large firm, they’re pretty easy to get in contact with when necessary and are organized with our files and documents.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Because we’re a small business, they took this into consideration and give us discounts on their services. We can’t really afford them. However, they saw the potential of my company and were willing to slash their prices in half so we could work with them and build a relationship.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t have any complaints.
