We needed to design our first website in a cost effective way that spoke to the diverse needs of pregnant individuals in the U.S.

We interviewed a number of vendors, but Outcrowd was best in terms of quality relative to price.

We asked them to create our initial landing page which required a number of more complex illustrations. They were able to execute and also refine based on our feedback beautifully.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

While our business has pivoted and we ultimately re-did our website to incorporate more live images, we were able to raise a $3.2M seed round off of the initial design.

Great - frequent touchpoints and a fast turnaround time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It's really their process — they made it so easy to develop ideas and refine them. The end result was great too.

Our business wanted to be closer to the end customer, not just the restaurants and cafes we provide solutions for. Thus, we wanted our brand to be more in line with the interests of the end customer.

We have compared several companies from several countries but struggled to find the quality/price sweet spot. Outcrowd came and solved that problem.

First, we did a virtual meeting to make sure we are aligned on what we want, and for Outcrowd to know about our company and its needs. The result of that meeting was the plan to do designs for the project as follows:

As a result of working with Outcrowd, we now feel we have a brand that screams quality and thoughtfulness. They implemented what we had in mind with great care and attention to detail.

We had a meeting with the project manager at first to review the steps to come. We picked it up from there on Slack such that they shared their progress consistently on a regularly updated Figma project, asked for our review, and moving to the next step once approved. We provided our comment on the Figma project, and they responded accordingly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The company's work is all about quality. I feel now that we have full-fledged brand that we can use forever without thinking twice. We also never felt disconnected from the project due to the great follow-up by their team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I wish the business development manager also joined Slack to make some stuff regarding payment easier.

I searched online for the best UX/UI developers and have analysed hundreds of companies across the world, I have ultimately shortlisted Outcrowd for they seemed to stand out from the “crowd” through their innovative approach and I was not disappointed!

It’s been a pleasure to work with Alexandra, the project manager who has been very prompt and provided me with frequent updates through emails, texts and video calls. The outcomes were delivered on time and even below the initial cost estimate!

The project started with an initial UX audit of the app where flaws in user flow were identified and fixes were advised. A design system was then developed based on a moodboard that we provided and finally the remaining time was used to design 5 new screens for our app.

We could've (over)communicated our expectations and requirements more clearly from the get go. Deviations on the expectations were fixed swiftly due to regular check-ins, which mitigated its impact.

After we had chosen the shades of colours, they started to work on illustrations sending us a variety of them before we chose ones' we liked the most. During the whole process we were in constant contact, either online and even met at their office.

Not really - there was a small design element that was missed but they fixed it quickly and turned the design to exactly what we were looking for.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I found Outcrowd through their work on Dribbble. The quality of their work immediately stood out to me, but also their professionalism in our initial meetings with them set them apart.

We did multiple rounds of information gathering in terms of what pages would need to be worked on, what design direction we would like to see, illustration styles, along with relevant comps and sites we admire.

Our project lead was Alexandra, who was fantastic and extremely responsive via a shared Slack channel. We also had designers and an illustrator work on this project who we were very happy with.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our deliverables included a Figma project as a source of truth for implementation, along with illustrations in .ai formats that I could tweak and customize to our needs. We've been able to leverage these assets into building out our new site in a little under two weeks.

Communication and workflow was extremely smooth. Alexandra was an excellent liaison communicating our wants and needs to the design team that would turn around results very quickly, often with a day or two.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their level of organization, quality of the result, and flexibility were all exceptional.

In the initial explorations, I would've probably liked to see a bit more variety in the directions, but ultimately we ended up with something I'm quite pleased with.

We wanted a high quality, reasonably priced solution so those were our two deciding criteria.

Outcrowd ran through 6-7 iterations of the deck design, each time making the deck better and adding our required updates.

We love our new deck! It is much cleaner and better than the last one and they followed our design direction PERFECTLY.

Their speed was impressive. They respond quickly with no long delays between communications that I have seen with other designers. Responses were always inside 12 hours.
