We are fully satisfied with the professional vendor's behavior and design results. Upgrading of the UI/UX brings us a 35% growth in 2 weeks compared to the previous results. I'm sure that with the new Marketing campaign we will be able to increase it more.

The flow was pretty straightforward, quick communication through Email, Telegram, and Google meet, and Trello Dashboard to see the progress.

These designs are being used for Hedgehog's Testnet Launch, and will also be used for its Mainnet Launch. Because this was a new project with a new team, we didn't yet have product design expertise but knew that we would need it in order to deliver a great product with great uiux.

very effective - we used Slack connect and team was very available despite the time difference. they were also extremely flexible with accommodating our tight timelines and changes to our brand as we developed it simultaneously with the designs we scheduled frequent check in calls to touch base and found that effective as well. very glad we had slack, calendly, and figma

Once agreements were signed Outcrowd moved quickly to produce wireframes and a UI design. Once approved they began to submit creative concepts for illustration and motion design to flesh out the UI. Final approval was followed by all the project files being delivered and some small adjustments and changes to make them work insitu.

Initial meeting and onboarding was completed by Alex their BDM and the project manager Alexandra. Our main contact throughout the project was Alexandra who managed their creative team well to produce a fantastic deliverable.

I was impressed with how they hit the ground running and took the concept into production. Their creativity and communication throughout the project was beyond reproach. The deliverables were produced within the project time-frames that were set and were of very high quality. Overall it was an excellent experience working with Outcrowd and I have not hesitation in recommending them.

I’m the co-founder and CMO at Shift Analytics, an analytics SaaS platform that provides marketing services.

What challenge were you trying to address with Outcrowd Design Agency?

We made very raw MVP versions. I have a lot of experience because I previously worked as a marketer and CMO at different companies, but we decided to revamp our established brand.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The first iteration phase was brand identity, which was about the logo, typography, and colors. It took us about 2-3 weeks to get the negotiation process done before we proceeding to the website design.

Our second iteration with them started in November 2020. We made the content for the website and additional information from our business for our clients. We started with wireframes and UX researches. We finalized the site before the new year, and now, we’re on the third phase.

We have our platform for analytics for gathering information that we need to provide for our customers and prospects. We also wanted to polish it because we’re getting into the next stage of investments. They will also provide development services for that platform.

What is the team composition?

We’re in contact with their project manager. There was a graphic designer on the first iteration. For the website, we worked with an illustrator and a UX/UI designer. In this third phase, we’re working with a project manager and a UX/UI designer.

How did you come to work with Outcrowd Design Agency?

I researched service companies that could provide branding and web design. I found several on Dribbble. After I saw Outcrowd Design Agency’s profile, I contacted them, and our first impressions were good.

We looked at their portfolio. They also shared some of the work they’d done with previous clients – we could see that it was high quality. I think that’s one of the reasons they’re a top studio on Dribbble. After they provided me with an estimate, we began working together.

We’ve spent around $15,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement with Outcrowd Design Agency started in August 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When we designed the logo, they saved me about 10 hours of work on the first iteration. I like how they engage with me. Their team sends me results every two days through mockups, sketches, ideas, and other designs.

For any changes I want to be made, they respond quickly. There was a situation where I was a little confused because I don’t understand the logic, but they explained it in a way that made sense for the end product.

How did Outcrowd Design Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

We mainly spoke with the project manager. If there were misunderstandings or they had an idea, the designers would join our calls and explain everything. We communicate mostly through email and Slack.

The project manager responds within 30 minutes to an hour. I receive quick turnarounds, and they deliver on time. They provide me reports. I know how much time they spent on the project because they work mostly hourly. We worked almost in the same time zone with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of work is impressive. They negotiate with us, explaining their ideas and asking appropriate questions. I understand mostly everything that they provide me, so I always know what’s going on.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think they may lack a little UX expertise, but we resolved these things pretty fast during the third iteration. They tried to explain their logic. After they finished a small iteration of our platform, I asked someone to review it, and they gave them a pretty good mark for it.

For their sprints, I’d also like a client view. It’s not crucial, though, but a little bit more planning could be beneficial.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Provide as much information and details as you can. If you have marketing research, provide them to the design team. Give them anything that can be useful for them for the end product. Make sure to ask questions if you don’t understand things. Ask why they decided it a certain way.

I am the Head of Outreach and Design at Streetwyze and have been with the company for almost 6 years. I help manage projects and lead our development team. Streetwyze is a mobile, mapping and SMS platform that helps everyday people share what they love, dislike and want to see changed in their communities.

Streetwyze develops state of the art community engagement strategies, both online and offline, story-mapping, mobile technologies, equity impact assessments, data visualizations, and community-generated data. That data can be integrated with Big Data and predictive analytics to solve the root causes of social inequity and lift up invisible community assets so that they can be leveraged for social good.

We needed to redesign our user interface and flow for increased engagement and usability.

Our engagement with Outcrowd Agency began in April 2019 and is ongoing. We are now transitioning to developing new designs and content for the application, rather than redesigning current features.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We successfully redesigned our platform and received positive feedback from our users. We’ve also reported an increase in usability with our new user flow, which was a main goal of ours. 

How did the vendor perform from a project management standpoint?

From a project management standpoint, the vendor was satisfactory. They provided designs quickly, which was very helpful, and adapted to our project management and communication tools, including Pivotal, Slack, Google Docs. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The quality of the designs and ability to combine our aesthetic and branding with a new fresh look set them apart. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if there was a more clearly defined exploration process so that everyone is on the same page with the goals, the framework, the vision, the roadmap, etc. It would also be great if there were easier ways to provide feedback on designs, for example maybe leaving comments on Invision files? 

While they did a great job of combining our aesthetics and the structure of our platform there could’ve been a little more room for innovation and creativity on the UX side. I think they maybe could’ve taken more initiative in understanding the functionality of our platform in order to do so.  

Lastly, sometimes it was hard to understand the UX of the designs. It might be helpful to build in language or a screengrab of how the proposed design functions. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Establish clear communication methods and guidelines around what you want, when you will touch base, when you will provide feedback, when you will receive designs, etc. Make sure there is a clear understanding of your platform’s usability - this might need to be ongoing and beyond one training.
