The platform allows sub-contractors to view assigned projects, submit daily work and risk reports, upload site images, and complete questionnaires related to site activities, deliveries, permits, and safety. Contractors can create and manage projects, onboard and assign sub-contractors, monitor daily progress, review risk statuses, and access consolidated reports for better site visibility and control.

Project was completed within the given timeline. Quality of work and team were excellent, they came up with excellent ideas and put these into place. The overall quality of the App is excellent, and were very open and available at all times. 

I would highly recommend the use of this Company if you are looking to develop an App.

Octal built a progressive web application (for both web and mobile). The primary aim of this application is to help users in effectively manage and organizing their professional relationships. Users have the ability to add and manage contacts, making it easier to access and maintain their connections. Furthermore, users can create custom groups to efficiently manage their connections, while also evaluating the communication strength of each connection.

This helps users identify connections with the frequent communication and those connections which need improvement in terms of strength, which helps the user to make more effective professional networking and relationships

Items were delivered on time. If a delay was foreseen, it was always well communicated. In general, as with any completely virtual contact, extreme clarity is needed and many steps needed to be taken to ensure the project was understood.

This was an extremely custom project and Octal was flexible and took the time to understand all requests in depth before proceeding. There was more than a few miscommunications because of the highly custom nature of the project, but it was always resolved in a timely and favorable manner.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I appreciated the team's willingness to take on a unique project such as mine. The project ended up quite a lot more custom than initially anticipated and the team took each request in stride, working hard to ensure a deep understanding of all requirements and being flexible with me on requests that required additional effort and cost.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Octal IT Solution could have done differently?

My biggest piece of feedback for Octal, and advice to perspective clients, is to ensure completely thorough reviews of project scoping and costs before proceeding with the work. The sales team, unfortunately, did not completely understand the scope of my project when initially quoting, and we had to stop and requote the work in order to fully capture the scope. 

Octal were flexible with me on the additional work and handled it well, but in total the Sales team must take more time with a project manager to ensure full understanding of the work before sending an official quote.

I’m the CEO and founder of a mentoring platform that provides mentoring services for women professionals.

We hired them to build our platform and app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Octal IT Solution has built a web platform and a mobile app for us. First, they gave us a questionnaire to learn about our brand identity and design elements. I created the concept and worked with their design and technical teams to create the platform. They've done the design, development, and testing for the platform. They've also integrated external tools like AddEvent and CertifyMe. 

Users can register themselves as mentors or mentees. All the mentors are featured on a mentors page, and the mentees can visit it and raise a request or connect with a mentor. The workflow is automated to facilitate connections between the mentors and mentees. The site also has a chat functionality, blogs, forums, and communities users can join. The Octal IT Solution team has also built a user dashboard feature. From the backend, we can access reports and data. 

Since the platform launched, the team has made enhancements to it. As for the mobile app, they sent me the designs in PDF files and did wireframing. They built the app for both Android and iOS. Additionally, Octal IT Solution has provided me with SEO services. Currently, they still offer maintenance and support for the web platform, and they'll also provide enhancements and maintenance for the mobile app. 

What is the team composition?

I worked on the web platform with a lead designer and Naresh (Full Stack Developer). For the app, I worked with two different developers. I've also worked with an SEO lead and a project manager. Naresh is my main point of contact. 

How did you come to work with Octal IT Solution?

I found them by googling small IT companies, and I found a site with a list of them. We contacted four candidates to give them an RFP and request a quote. I liked Octal IT Solution's proposal, quote, and specifications best. They provided a very clear 20–25-page scope document outlining all the milestones, so I gave them the contract. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2020 and launched the platform in July 2021. The app project began in April 2022, and we're about to launch it. Our engagement is ongoing. 

Additionally, the team has designed and developed my personal website and mobile app, and they also do maintenance for them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Octal IT Solution has created a great platform. I get a lot of praise for the site; users say it's well done, the design looks good, and the workflow works well. Moreover, traffic to the platform has increased throughout our engagement. 

Since I'm not a technical person, I rely on them quite heavily to take care of all the technical aspects. They do research and advise me on the best way to do things. The team makes an extra effort to find and fix issues and talk to third-party providers to integrate tools into our platform. In addition, their maintenance pricing is reasonable. 

How did Octal IT Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

Regarding the timeline, there was a time during the web platform's development when the concept was changing, so the process wasn't moving much. However, the development team compensated for that delay, completing the project in seven months. 

They're responsive and quick to get back to us; they even respond during weekends. We communicate via email and use Google Drive to keep all our documents and updates. Aside from that, we have a WhatsApp group with the whole team we use a lot. 

The team has also been very flexible; I've changed the scope and the concept, and they've made those changes at the same cost. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Octal IT Solution has done a good job of understanding my requirements and adding a lot of enhancements that I wanted them to make. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could be a bit more organized in documenting all the open items and status updates. For example, we had to create many documents during testing to see what was and wasn't working, and I had to keep that updated. However, they do a very good job of solving issues and commenting on the documents when they complete each task.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Octal IT Solution's scoping is pretty good, and their salespeople do an excellent job of creating proposals. They're very clear and understand requirements and flow. Therefore, my advice is to document the workflow. During our platform's development, the concepts evolved in the same document as the workflow, and we had a bit of back and forth. 

You also need to tell the team what you want and be very clear. They should know your business scenario, workflow, and conditions.

What challenge were you trying to address with Octal IT Solution?

We had an IoT device that we manufactured and developed that we wanted to connect to an app. We hired Octal IT Solution to develop our app and to do everything on the front- and backend. We also wanted them to create an administrative portal to see all of our users who purchased the device and registered it on the app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They were supposed to create a mobile app with react native, they were supposed to complete backend development for us with AWS etc, and they were supposed to create an administrator portal.

What is the team dynamic?

We worked with eight people in total. We started with one team of four people, and then they replaced the whole team later with four new people. The teams were made up of designers, developers, and project managers. 

How did you come to work with Octal IT Solution?

We were looking to develop the app, so we looked on Clutch. We did a lot of interviews and looked at ratings, and they had a very high score, so we went on their website and saw a lot of high-end names that they worked with. The original conversations we had with them were very positive, and we decided to work with them because we thought they had the requirements to get the job done. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around $28,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We signed a contract with them in July 2021, but they haven’t done any work for our company in over seven months. They also have not responded to most of our communication. They just left off. Very unprofessional. Especially since they stole our money.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

We worked on a milestone basis. They were supposed to be paid when they hit milestones, but they always asked for money ahead of time. They started on everything, but didn’t finish anything. They didn’t even do half of what they were supposed to do. They asked for payments before they did any of the work, and we pre-paid on a lot of stuff that was never completed. 

They didn’t do much, and the things that they did do were completed with a minimal level of effort. They continued to insist that things were completed, but they kept pushing things back and buying themselves time. 

After six months of working with us, they did not understand the scope of the project at all. They did not know how to create APIs and they didn’t know how to use AWS. They promised one thing, but they were not equipped to do any of that. 

We never even fired them, they just stopped working. We hired another company to do the work they were supposed to do, but we continued to reach out to them and ask them to do the work. They were not responsive to anything we tried. 

How did Octal IT Solution address the challenges that arose?

The six times that we did meet, we had to reach out to them via Zoom, and they would give us updates that barely contained anything. We gave them feedback, and they didn’t change anything. 

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have contracts of engagement, which seems to be completely ignored.

How was project management handled?

Horrible. 0 project management skills. Complete disaster

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I had originally liked them because of all the positive feedback on clutch, but clearly, they cannot be trusted. Furthermore their website named some respectable companies, which was a sham. I found out it was a sham after the engagement commenced.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I highly recommend not using them at all. They really were horrible in every aspect and didn't conclude the work, didn't adhere to the contract and disappeared. Furthermore, you will never get the little work they did work on even though you paid for the project.

Avoid at all costs. I highly recommend looking for another company.

In what specific areas can they improve?

They could improve on everything they did. There was not a single positive experience throughout the partnership once they started. Everything was a disaster with them, and we lost almost a year of progress from working with them.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Decision made based on price and designing quality. Few companies provided few sketch of what I need and Octal had best designing skills.

Built two Native apps for Android and iOS. Had to build app code and design. All requirements was given to Octal.

There were around 5 employees that worked with me - Project manager, 2 developers, 1 QA and 1 backend developer

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

App was launched within 10 months (including live testing). Very hard to cooperate as you have to keep very big control on delivered - need to test for bugs all the time.

Timelines were not month - agreed on 3 months. Delivered in 7 months. Communication was the biggest bottleneck

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Pros:

• Very cheap – were able to make decent dating app for less than 15k EUR
• Decent designers for the money you pay
• As long as you have upcoming payments, they will be very polite.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

• Communication – its in so very bad level, that its even hard to express in words. Sales team will be really representative, but PM and other team members will be very bad in communication. What I mean by that:

1. they just do not listen – you can provide them long text of requirements, screenshots, videos… they will not make it properly as described. Afterwards you tell how to fix. They will fix maybe a half and by fixing something they will most likely create new bugs. Its just a nightmare. But at the same time, they will tell not no worry and everything will be fine.
2. moreover, they have poor communication between themselves – during the calls I caught them lying only because they didn’t discuss some points mutually and when they understand that they just try to avoid the awkward discussion. In short – because of this very poor communication we all lost a lot of time / money. As they are not listening, then they spend their time budget on doing single thing again and again… because of that they try to save time on other staff which leads to poor performance and bad quality.

• As soon as there will be no payments ahead (last payment is before going live) you will have to push them to do things on time. Hundreds of times someone got ill and because of that we had to postpone our project. But instead, I believe they were working on projects, where clients still have payments. They have to reach milestone to get the payment.
• Payment milestones – be very specific what is milestone in the agreement. I had milestone like “75% of app core is ready” which is very unclear milestone. App was ready in my point of view 30%, when they already pushed for this payment.
• Zero skill to meet their own deadlines. If they say that app will be ready in 3 months, then in my case it was 7 months.
• QA (testers) are very bad – very often Octal told that bu is fixed, but actually it wasn’t. In addition, QA test only one specific thing that had to be fixed, but if they find out that some new bug has appeared because of the fix, they just ignore it. You will be the real QA 6) Didn’t like that they asked my own passwords for play stores, AWS etc.. I had to explain why it is important not to share passwords and create their own users with limited access.
• Cooperation agreement is the gold for you – first of all, they will not be willing to create it. They will offer that business proposal is the agreement. Reject it. Ask for real agreement. Then when they prepare – it will be in very poor quality. You will ask for many adjustments. It took like 3 days only to correct the agreement. Make sure that all you need is mentioned in the agreements. All small specific details – because if its not going to be in the agreement, then its not going to be delivered.

We searched online for credible NFT-blockchain developers and shortlisted a few. After speaking with each team about project scope, we chose Octal IT Solution based on their past experience, cost estimates, and technology expertise.

The initial designs took longer than expected due to multiple revisions we had to make. However, they covered the time during the development phase.
