I’m a digital strategist at a consultancy that aids clients with their digital storytelling.

What challenge were you trying to address with Nucleus Digital Marketing?

The pandemic has increased the need for digital transformation, as more and more businesses are operating online. For example, everyone knows about Zoom and QR codes thanks to the pandemic. As a consultant, I come up with a lot of advertising campaigns and have hired Nucleus Digital to take my message to market.

I hired them to do paid media work for some of our content pieces. The work went so well that we’ve hired them to do work for some of our clients as well.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve worked on two types of campaigns together: brand awareness campaigns and performance campaigns. Nucleus Digital provides search and social media support for both types.

Specifically, they developed a storytelling campaign on YouTube for my own brand. The objective was to obtain a certain amount of visual impressions around the work. I provided the necessary budget to test different aspects of the advertising.

Beyond advertising, they’ve also helped me with analytics, creative, strategy, position, and conversion rate optimization. In the future I’m going to work with them on the new Google Analytics setup, SEO enhancements, and more.

What is the team composition?

I work directly with Tom (Founder), as well as with their entire creative team. They’ve also provided a copywriting resource when needed.  

How did you come to work with Nucleus Digital Marketing?

I was originally referred to them by some of their finished clients. Their previous work impressed me, and Nucleus really catered to me in our discovery call. Many times when you work with an agency, you end up being pitched or sold services that you don’t need. This was not the case with Nucleus. They truly focus on only what my needs are, and the same is true for those clients of mine that Nucleus helps me with.

There are a lot of agencies in Australia that don’t do this very well and don’t understand client briefs, so this is where Nucleus’ biggest value lies.

I’ve spent around $111,000 so far.

We’ve been working together since April 2022.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’ve delivered strong results and hit my campaigns’ objectives. For the YouTube campaign, they reached 1 million impressions and delivered the most affordable cost per view. Some campaigns spend $5 for every view, but they targeted specific countries to get me a cost of one cent per view. This allowed me to hit my goal at the most affordable ad spend.

I’ve hired them to work with five of my clients as well, and all of those campaigns have been successful, positive experiences. I can definitely see the relationship growing in the future.

For our campaigns, the KPIs can range from impressions and clicks to traffic, conversions, and actuals. Every campaign has different metrics; a YouTube campaign is very different from a TikTok campaign. If I’m working with a musician, the KPI might be downloads on Spotify. Nucleus also customizes their work to the project I bring them, and they track all the results. For more basic campaigns, we use Google Analytics data to study cost per lead, cost per conversion, and cost per acquisition. Digital Nucleus always improves my clients' performance in their desired areas.

How did Nucleus Digital Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve met all my deadlines to this point, and in some cases delivered ahead of time, especially with reports. If there are any challenges, Nucleus communicates them ahead of time, along with any changes to the timeline. They have excellent communication and are very proactive.

We have frequent calls with them on Zoom and conversations via WhatsApp and Messenger. I’m on the go a lot, and Nucleus caters to my needs as I’m traveling. They don’t just take an agency-wide approach; they take a human approach.

What did you find most impressive about them?

A lot of agencies are upselling right now, but not Nucleus. They’re a talented agency with a lot of potential, and I’m excited to see their growth plan. They provide a level of care and detail at the moment that really stands out, and they’re going to grow even larger in the coming months.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There isn’t any way for them to improve on my campaigns. We’re operating at 100% performance. There haven’t been any negative interactions or issues from my clients on their work either.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s very important to understand what your call to action is and what your client’s goals are. Nucleus’ work is based on analytics and intelligence. At the end of the day, people are human, and it’s important to understand what their purpose is when it comes to marketing campaigns. My best advice is just to know what you’re trying to achieve.

We are Magic Goat Designs. A branding studio designing ambitious assets for musicians, small businesses, and personal brands. We cultivate brands from the ground up. We create scroll-stopping designs that include branding, graphic design, editorial design, social media styling, packaging design, and creative direction.

We were launching a digital marketing campaign to gain new clients. Our goals, lead generation, brand awareness, and engagement.

Was recommended Tom from Nucleus Digital.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.

We went through a discovery call to understand our goals for marketing and what realistic expectations were. We decided on facebook and Instagram ads based on our target audience. Tom set up the Facebook pixel, audiences and retargeting strategy. They built copywriting and used existing assets for design as I had plenty.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We had a 33% watch rate on our video ads which is 50% higher than our previous best advertising.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Once a week zoom meetings were helpful for checkins and they met all our expectations and deadlines.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Tom not only knows his stuff but explains it in a way that is digestible. He can explain how to bounce a ball to an elephant. Always there for you and willing to let you know realistic expectations of projects.
