Please describe your company and your position there.

We’re a hotel group that operates in India, Europe, and the U.S., as well as many other prime locations. We also offer resort and room booking services. We’ve been in this sector for the past 18 years, and our hotels are mostly 3-star, 5-star, and 7-star. As technical head, my main role is to ensure that our online facility works well and develop new applications to enhance customer experience.

For what projects/services did your company hire NSJSoftware?

Our old online booking system didn’t have a good customer-facing interface. It had a lot of problems, like payment failure, improper design, and lack of UX. We decided to hire a new firm to build an online booking portal and an Android app to run on tablets in every room.

We wanted a reliable, highly secure portal to store our business data and handle between one thousand and one million users a day. The mobile app needed to be quick, clearly designed, and easy to use. We wanted to remove the old-fashioned telephonic order and build an app that worked well for customers, chefs, waiters, and housekeepers.

What were your goals for this project?

Our primary goal was to build a giant web portal where customers could select the room they needed, easily book or cancel a room, access a simple payment functionality, and view an account where they could add or remove their card, cancel bookings, and leave feedback.

All this functionality needed to be packed into a well-designed web portal that was responsive, secure, and speedy. As a technical head, I decided not to choose any open source technologies like PHP or Ruby.

This project was designed to increase business, not only in terms of sales but also in terms of customer satisfaction. In the hospitality industry, an easy and relaxed customer experience is more important than money.

How did you select this vendor?

We used many approaches, including advertising, references, and online platform searches. After hunting a few weeks, one of our chartered accountants recommended NSJ Software, so we contacted them and asked for a quote. The next day, we received a detailed quote and execution plan. That impressed us a lot, so we shortlisted them with seven other companies.

Our entire management was present on the final selection day, including the CEO, CFO, technical head, and director. We considered the cost, efficiency, timeline, past work, and client portfolio. After considering all these factors, we decided on NSJ Software and finalized their quote. In the next few days, we signed an NDA and intellectual property agreement, then started work.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

At the initial meeting and requirements gathering, we discussed the brief and explained our business needs. They analyzed and designed a prototype, which included 95% of what we wanted. After a few tweaks, the prototype was done. It was smooth, easy to operate, and included the animations and color combinations we wanted. We immediately approved the prototype so they could begin the design and coding.

After few months, the system went live. We selected the colors according to our policy and specified some key features and functionalities. NSJ Software was responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of a full-featured admin panel and an online booking engine with payment functionality. They provided consulting and SEO services as an extra service, apart from our main project.

What was the team composition?

The project team consisted of nine people. One was a project manager who we stayed in touch with from the first day. Apart from that, there were about four programmers in a fixed role. The rest of the roles, such as support person, changed based on project need and skill. They assigned two designers, who were as skilled as the programmers and testers. We didn't help to assemble the team, but it changed as the project went on.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our portal was developed and launched two weeks early, which made us happy, and our sales increased by almost 57% in the first quarter. That’s an extremely good result. Using the admin panel and Google Analytics, we can also see why customers aren’t booking with us. Now we have a lot of information about our business. Apart from sales, we also see more customer satisfaction in reviews and feedback.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Their project management was awesome, and they were always ahead of the timeline. I always got their work before the last day, which gave us so much time to check the system and ensure everything matched the requirements document.

I received regular updates at the end of every day, which was great. If they were stuck, then they kept me updated so we weren’t billed for any incorrect hours. We used Jira tools for project supervision, and communicated through Skype, Slack, and email.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their talent and knowledge of the field impressed us a lot. Their punctuality, responsiveness, and can-do attitude differentiated them from every other vendor.

They should increase their resources so they can grow faster and more easily.

What were your goals for this project?

Our primary goal is to create a reliable, attractive, and secure platform. Apart from that, we want to integrate a payment gateway so international students can purchase courses. We also want the solution to be scalable for future business growth.

I searched in my local market and couldn't find a suitable vendor. A friend recommended NSJSoftware and we hired them.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

In the beginning, they investigated our business requirements and what we wanted for the site in-depth. Then, they provided a detailed and concrete estimation of the project's cost and milestones. We signed them on for the job and they developed mock designs.

After finalizing the designs, NSJSoftware started developing the platform and provided drafts of their work in regular intervals. They took our feedback throughout development and made the necessary changes.

Finally, they tested the product and the platform was ready for launch. They are currently planning to create a mobile application for us. 

What was the team composition?

The team consists of seven members including a project manager, a team leader, a few designers, a coder, and a tester. They also provide a 24/7 support team.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our solution is cost-effective. Our sales increased by 40–50% and student registration increased up to 60%. We now provide our service to the entire South Gujarat region and to some international and out of state students.
