What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The NineHertz built every component of the app according to our standards and timelines. In terms of their delivery rate, they never made a promise they couldn’t keep, which helped us meet all our target dates and implement necessary changes. Overall, their timeliness and capacity to generate accurate estimates were especially instrumental in our success.

How did The NineHertz perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated via ActiveCampaign and Skype meetings. From a project management perspective, The NineHertz met our expectations with their prompt updates and thorough communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re most impressed with their outstanding turnaround times and insightful suggestions, which allowed us to refine our scope and product. The NineHertz was a superb team with in-depth knowledge and expertise and even more impressive customer service — I couldn’t say enough great things about them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They were an offshore and overseas team, so we needed to make adjustments to accommodate our time zone differences.

Our plan was to lunch an App which can provide quizzes on GK, Politics, Science, Social Science, Maths, English, Hindi, History and other main subjects. The quizzes need to get answered in a particular duration. To win users need to be very quick and accurate. The team worked on our idea to implement the app

After the initial scope was finalized and we hired Ninehertz, there were several meetings to finalize the features of our app. Everything we wanted was properly described as features. The relative design samples were very aligned with our vision, we only had to provide nomial feedback in the process. Everything was taken care of.

The work done on our product is great. We are very pleased with the overall product they delivered for us. They do well at providing maintenance and support, resolving issues very quickly. Our user feedbacks have been very satisfactory.

They managed the project tasks really well, along with maintaining the timeline for this. The collaboration tool, Active Collab, was a great help in keeping everything in one place & tracking the progress in a timely manner.

We were looking to extend our team for mobile development projects for our clients.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve collaborated with The NineHertz to develop and design various mobile applications, including an online help portal app. Most recently, we built a food delivery app with two sides, one for restaurants and one for customers. This app was built in React Native, and we used Laravel to build APIs for the server side of it.

Customers can browse the menu, place their orders, and see estimated delivery times. When the restaurant receives an order, they confirm it and proceed to prepare and deliver the food. Customers are notified when the order is on the way.

We work with a project manager who is our main point of contact, two mobile app developers, a backend developer, and a tester.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The NineHertz works diligently to meet deadlines and produce quality and bug-free products. The food delivery app was launched two months ago, and it has already had 10,000 downloads.

They test twice before delivery, so we haven’t had any crashes. They also have excellent processes in place, from planning and gathering requirements to testing and delivering the products. We’re quite happy with the partnership overall.

We work well together, planning out project milestones and timelines. The NineHertz tends to finish ahead of schedule, and they respond well to feedback. We use ActiveCollab for project management, and we communicate via phone, WhatsApp, and email.

The NineHertz has a large pool of developers, so they can choose the right resources for each project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had some delays due to communication issues in the past, but they’ve been resolved by having a secondary project manager available whenever our main point of contact is unavailable.

No, I can’t think of anything. As a first-time app developer, they were really helpful to me.

I’m the owner of the company. We’re developing a beauty app in the Dominican Republic.

What challenge were you trying to address with The NineHertz? 

They’re helping us develop an on-demand beauty app. Users can ask for a service and independent providers will provide it. We get a percentage of the cost of every appointment.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

After agreeing to a budget and submitting a payment, The NineHertz had us meet with their team leader and programmers, who communicated how the process would work. We started with the design, and then they added all the functions of the app that I described. I also explained the general process of using the app from the user’s point of view. 

The most important feature is that the user can make an appointment, and that process sends a signal to all the nearby service providers, who then can accept or reject that appointment. After the appointment is accepted, if the service provider decides to cancel it, then that sends another signal and someone else will take over the job. This sequence makes for a simple, automatic process. 

Another important capability we’re working on is a payment gateway that will allow users to pay directly in the app. The solution is for iOS and Android. The NineHertz is working in React Native. We’re starting in the Dominican Republic, but if it goes well then we’ll expand country by country. 

What is the team composition?

I mostly talk to a project leader and a project manager, but there’s also a UI/UX designer, a programmer, a tester, and more. In total, we’ve interacted with 7–8 people. The NineHertz has a senior programmer that works on multiple projects and several junior programmers who focus on individual projects. They have a sizable team. If one of the junior resources assigned to our project has an issue, then they can ask the senior programmer for help. 

How did you come to work with The NineHertz? 

I looked for local development companies, but there weren’t many app development options in the Dominican Republic so I started looking online. I liked The NineHertz’s proposal, and they were clear about their rules and processes. Their sales team was very responsive as well.

We’ve spent around $50,000 so far. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since August 2020. The app is nearly complete, and then we move into six months of support from The NineHertz.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The NineHertz has been good so far. Progress is coming a bit slower than we expected, but that happens with app development according to what I’ve read. Certain functions seem simple at the outset and then become more complicated. 

The NineHertz does their due diligence and follows through on what they say that they’ll deliver, whether it’s difficult or not. They are responsible. Their team has quickly resolved any issues we’ve had. 

How did The NineHertz perform from a project management standpoint?

They work through stages: design, development, and more. Certain aspects of the work could be improved, like being able to change the design after we closed the design phase. New ideas have come up throughout the project that I want to include, but I also don’t want to keep making changes forever. I’m not sure how to fix this, but there are some things I wish we did differently in the design stage and could go back and fix now. 

The NineHertz’s team uses a web-based project management tool where we can post documents and chat. Google Meet, Skype, and WhatsApp also help us communicate, along with email. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

This is the first time I’ve hired an app development company so I’m not sure what distinguishes The NineHertz from other options, but I enjoyed how they started the project. There was good clarity up front about how the work and relationship would go. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I may do 80%–90% of the design at the beginning of the project and then move the final 10%–20% to the end of the project so we could incorporate changes and new ideas we had along the way. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The more you know about app development and the features you want to develop — especially any local complexities you might encounter — the better. Trying to install a payment gateway in the Dominican Republic is not as easy as it is in the United States. Some providers aren’t accessible to local currencies, and that’s impacted us down the road. The more you study before the project, the more you’ll be able to help The NineHertz complete the project.

What challenge were you trying to address with The NineHertz?

I’m trying to establish a connection between tax professionals and tax clients based on the specialization, expertise, and experience of the tax experts and the clients’ preferences. Thus, I brought in The NineHertz to help me build our website and develop an integrated web and mobile application system per my requirements.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, we had an initial conversation with The NineHertz where I told them what I wanted, how I needed the site to perform, and what I needed to get out of the tax experts and clients to define the basic architecture.

I received a quote on the project, and we proceeded to the design phase. We talked about how we wanted the website to look and what functions we needed in it during that phase. Then, we also defined how the mobile app for both Android and iOS was going to be.

The NineHertz team has been developing a consolidated system, linking the website and the app to the same database. I’m very specific with my requirements, and I pay attention to little details, so I’ve been submitting constant change requests to get the system to look like I need it. Their team is really good with all the updates.

I work with seven people from The NineHertz, including a team lead, three programmers, a designer, a project manager, and a support person.

How did you come to work with The NineHertz?

I wanted this project to be fun. I noticed that they were gaming developers, and they were good at both web and mobile app development, so I went with them.

Additionally, I was going to provide the design and the ideas, so I didn’t mind if they didn’t have prior experience with a finance app.

We’ve spent somewhere around the $50,000–$199.999 range.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2020, and our engagement is ongoing. We’ve pretty much finished the project, but there are still some changes that I need them to do before seeing this product in the market.

Initially, I just thought about the process, but The NineHertz carried out the idea further, and they’ve taken an extra step to build a really user-friendly system — I really like that about them.

How did The NineHertz perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve done a pretty good job of carrying out what I wanted and needed to deliver. The team is really good with the project scope, and if I want something done that we didn’t talk about initially, they’re very reasonable about it and ask for further details.

The NineHertz is based in India, so we have different schedules. I communicate with the team lead via WeChat, and this person coordinates the project with the team and makes communication happen.

What did you find most impressive about them?

This is my first time working with a software development company, so I don’t have a point of comparison. However, I feel pretty confident that The NineHertz has delivered a pretty good job.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The constructive feedback depends on the customer. For example, I’m very particular with small details. If I see the project as a whole, 80% has been done really well, but 20% has small details and changes that I need them to work on. This isn’t a bad part of their work, but it is more about my specific preferences.

You can bring out the ideas, and The NineHertz will help you. They’re really knowledgeable about the systems’ user interactions, so they’ll take your idea and express it in a functional system — that’s their strength.

Be aware that their fundamental expertise is around gaming development, and make sure that their team completely understands what you want, so you can go from there.

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, we started with a basic overview of how we wanted the app to work in a PowerPoint slide deck. Then, The NineHertz designed the app. They integrated components such as snaps, feeds, profiles, and a messaging service.

They also created our website from scratch. Our original package just had a landing page, and we paid extra to have a couple more pages. Currently, they’re working on the final milestone.

I found them on Clutch. I also brought my idea to a couple of their competitors, and we got an estimate from each one. The NineHertz offered the cheapest quote.

We started working together in August 2020, and we’re working on the last milestone now. We’re hoping to wrap up at the end of June 2021.

When we agreed on the project, a lot of things were missing from the description. There were a lot of little things that weren’t scoped out. There were also a lot of things they did for us for free and a lot that we had to pay extra to do. I cut them a lot of slack because of the recent COVID-19 situation in India. Overall, they’re very professional and they meet all of my goals.

How did The NineHertz perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re good at managing the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to work long hours until the customer is satisfied stands out.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could set out specific deadlines and try to meet them as best as possible. We don’t really have any deadlines at the moment.

My advice is to think about every single function you need in your app. For example, if you want someone to be able to post on the app, you need to think about integrating the ability to delete a post.

I’m the owner and operator of MoneyHunter Corp, an online contest. People pay to enter for the chance of winning prize money. They just have to solve a brainteaser in order to compete.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve designed every page on the website and connected the platform to both an iOS and Android app. They handled everything from logo design and branding to user flows. They even designed the menus and guided us through what we should include.  

What is the team composition?

I initially dealt with Kunal (Business Analyst) during the sales process. Then I started working with Gaurav (Quality Analyst), who led a team of six. Anamika (Business Analyst) is now our primary contact. There were also two people on the design team and six people on the development team.

How did you come to work with The NineHertz?

They came up in a Google search under app development. It was very lucky that I found them.

How much have you invested with them?

We originally spent $48,000, but as I added more complex features, we spent about $7,000 more (approximately $55,000 in total).

We started working together in May 2020 and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’ve literally created my business. Without them, we wouldn’t have been able to develop anything without them. The website works well and the mobile side is excellent. We should be launching soon.

They make sure everything goes off without a hitch. They have two designated testers that make sure everything is running smoothly. I also get regular updates so I can test the process as well. If there are any bugs, they work it out immediately.

How did The NineHertz perform from a project management standpoint?

They really held my hand throughout the process. I speak with Anamika almost daily and she walks me through everything I don’t understand. We use ActiveCollab to communicate. The whole team can see the conversations and responses. I also work directly with Anamika on WhatsApp.

I’ve changed my mind quite a few times throughout the project, so the project has taken longer than expected. But they’ve been accommodating and they’ve quickly implemented anything I’ve requested. On top of that, they gave me a quote at the beginning of the project, and they’ve stuck to it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It was difficult to find a partner that could link the website and the apps. They ensured that everything ran seamlessly. Other companies I talked to weren’t confident in their abilities, but The NineHertz clearly had the skills to execute what I was looking for.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

They don’t need to improve anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Communication is extremely important. I would definitely recommend that you use both WhatsApp and ActiveCollab to get immediate responses from them. At the beginning of the project, I was hesitant to give them feedback, but once I started working with them closely, the results only improved.

I’m the COO of Chillingapp, a small startup platform for people with scary stories.

What challenge were you trying to address with The NineHertz?

I have a background in business and my partner has a background in scary story narration. We needed someone to help build the application and the MVP for our initial rollout. We engaged The NineHertz to help us build that out.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The NineHertz built the entire mobile platform, both front-and-backend, for us from the ground up. They completed the coding and the application was completely customized. The application is for both iOS and Android devices and then they gave us the backend for the administration of the application. The iOS version is completely finished and the Android version is on the Play Store, but there were a couple of bugs to go back and fix. It’s in review with Google now, so it should be done shortly. We have an ongoing maintenance service contract with them for at least the next year.

What is the team composition?

Prateek (Project Manager) is our main point of contact, but there are probably between 6–10 people.

How did you come to work with The NineHertz?

We looked at a couple of different options for us. There are a couple of no-code and low-code builders out there that we considered early on, but they just didn’t meet our needs. That’s when we decided to look at a custom shop to help us build out our application. We looked at probably half a dozen different developer teams and The NineHertz team had some of the best reviews and more competitive prices for what we were trying to achieve.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Without The NineHertz, we never would have been able to get our application out, especially with the high quality that they offer. The UI of the application is fantastic and I think it’s above and beyond what we had initially envisioned for the MVP.

How did The NineHertz perform from a project management standpoint?

They use Activecollab for project management and we use WhatsApp to communicate informally because they’re in India and we’re in the US. For more formal communication, we communicate through active collaboration.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m very impressed with their ability to solve problems. We had some features that were relatively unique and they were able to achieve that on both iOS and Android devices and make them both work seamlessly. They never once couldn’t do something.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We didn’t get the app out as quickly as we would have liked but that was sort of due to us and our own experience. There were some delays.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t be afraid to communicate and collaborate because they’re very responsive to any sort of communication. Take advantage of that and take the initiative because they’re very willing to jump on a call if there are any questions.

As of now, it is too early to say, but we project to have 3k+ worldwide downloads within the next 2 months along with an average rating of 4 stars.

Very effective. There were no hiccups and everyone that we worked with communicated with us well, regardless of language barrier, time difference, etc.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We really appreciate how flexible they were with us whenever we needed to readjust and modify plans. We also appreciate how often they would take initiative to search for ways to help us improve our product based on the latest updates. The NineHertz team kept us well informed!
