I’m a strategic campaign and marketing lead at Avnet, an electronic component distribution company.

What challenge were you trying to address with NewFlight?

We were attending an event and wanted to do an event video.

What was the scope of their involvement?

In the beginning, NewFlight provided equipment and edited our event video. Then, we realized that we had specific video requirements; we were doing case studies with some suppliers. We brought NewFlight in for support.

Since then, they’ve worked on video production for us. All the videos have live-action, not animation.

How did you come to work with NewFlight?

We initially hired them through a marketing agency we worked with to support us on specific campaigns. The marketing agency already had a relationship with NewFlight.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between €100,000–€200,000 (approximately between $100,000–$200,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2016, and our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They come up with great ideas and are very supportive. NewFlight has produced excellent content for us. We’ve always had great internal feedback on our videos; they’re all super high quality. The campaigns that have involved these videos have been highly visible, and we’ve used the videos a lot.

Moreover, NewFlight supports our business goals. They also hold the hands of people who aren’t used to being on video, which is a huge benefit.

How did NewFlight perform from a project management standpoint?

They meet deadlines and are responsive. They’re also flexible when we have tight deadlines. Overall, their communication is on point, which makes working with them very smooth and easy. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, we had our kickoff meetings in person, but now we communicate through video calls and emails.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One of their major strengths is their project management. They’re really personable and easy to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, our experience with them has been great.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open. You can come up with a concept but allow it to evolve. Let the team dig out ideas; they know how to tell stories.

We originally hired NewFlight to deliver our new company website. During this project, they also created a company video. Since then, they continue to take on smaller projects to enhance our website and look after the general maintenance of the website.

Excluding the website copywriting, everything was well managed and delivered to schedule. NewFlight has been excellent at dealing with many last minute requests in a friendly and prompt manner.

Their ability to take any challenge and find a resolution is impressive. Throughout the process, Tim and Sophie have always been very accommodating with our requests. No task is too big for them to tackle. They are also very personable which has made it an absolute pleasure to work with them.

I'm the director of marketing for Ciphr, a specialist provider of HR, payroll, recruitment, onboarding and learning solutions to mid-market organisations in the UK

For what projects/services did your company hire NewFlight, and what were your goals?

As a fast-growing business Ciphr's people team have led a project to review and refresh our own values to ensure that Ciphr's culture is fit for the business today, and that we have structures in place to preserve this culture and behaviours as we continue to grow, both organically and through acquisition. To help convey our values to prospective new recruits we wanted a short video featuring a range of existing employees about who they are, what makes them tick and what they love about working here.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We've worked with the team at Newflight several times before so they understood the brief very clearly. They also came up with some excellent concepts for how we might convey certain aspects of working at Ciphr that are hard to describe with words alone.

An initial discovery call followed by a review of ideas and planning for the day's shooting. Once a first draft was received we only needed one round of edits before the video was complete (although we were able to use additional rounds of edits if we needed)

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked with Tim (founder) and Sara (assistant). Feedback was very open and relaxed.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Feedback from the people team at Ciphr has been hugely positive, the video was exactly what they were looking for. Their work has proven to be a useful tool in their armory to engage prospective candidates for vacancies.
