I’m an innovation lead at an insurance company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenges were you trying to address with Náutica Digital?

We defined our digital transformation strategy as the innovation area with great room for improvement on our digital channels. We received proposals for a first project to create and complete our public web page; Nautica’s proposal seemed the best fit, so we started working with them on that first project.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided Náutica Digital’s team with the requirements. After that, they sent us functional prototypes. Once we OKed their work and validated the site’s functionalities, they moved on with the development. We’re currently analyzing how they could help us develop mobile apps, and transactional portals, among other things. As for code languages, they use Python and Angular mostly, which has been a significant change for us because the company had been using Microsoft technologies until now.

What was the team composition?

In this first project, we’ve worked with around seven people.

How did you come to work with Náutica Digital?

We found them searching online, saw their website, and after checking their portfolio, we decided to contact them. Camilo (CEO) replied directly to us and showed us similar projects they had developed, and we liked the functionalities they proposed. He also showed us a proposed architecture, which made it a lot easier for us to picture the implementation of the project. Another thing that caught our attention was their use of agile methodologies. They were also open to changes in model business; they adapted very quickly and made things a lot easier for us as a company. 

How much have you invested in them?

So far, we’ve invested about $80 million Colombian pesos (approximately $2,100 USD) with them. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since March 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their work has been excellent, and their support has been key for consolidating these new projects. They take instructions, are very positive, and provide constant feedback to create the projects together. They have become our strategic partners and have allowed us to envision many more projects for our different business needs.

How did Náutica Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

They're straightforward in their communications and always pending on us. They're also great at time management — whenever we’ve had any delays, it has been for delays from our side.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They updated the design of our digital channels, and their design work is outstanding.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — we’ve had a great experience working with them.

We needed help with web and software development for our business.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Náutica Digital has developed our website and our software platforms using Django. They currently bring support to our programs.

What was the team composition?

We've worked with six people throughout the project, including software developers, support assistants, and designers.

How did you come to work with Náutica Digital?

Another company referred them to us. We contacted them and found out they could provide what we were looking for, so we decided on working with them. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in January 2016, and it is an ongoing collaboration.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve had great results; they have created efficient and useful digital tools that have allowed us to improve our processes both for our internal management as our relationship with our clients.

How did Náutica Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve had a great experience so far; they create a schedule for each project and activity, and they’re in constant communication with us. They’re always pending any request or support we might have and are clear through all the project’s progress. In terms of communication tools, we use email mostly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We're delighted with our leading management software, which they developed. They did a great job, and thanks to it, we have been able to automate numerous processes that used to be manual, and that has saved us a lot of time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't think there's anything they can improve on — we’ve had a great experience.
